While the food was ok, after being sat down at a table for a little while, I was then asked to move so they could use the table to push together for another party.
Me and my boyfriend really love shangs and we have never had a problem with any of the servers but the older lady i want to say is the manager but not sure.
The portion size has significantly decreased.

Found this place in Evanston while looking for another Chinese restaurant. I had the orange chicken, egg rolls and taro boba tea. The tea was terrible and definitely from a powder. Wasn’t sweet and tasted gritty. The egg rolls were delicious and so was the orange chicken. It was fabulous and had orange peel and a real orange slice in it. Had the perfect amount of chicken and coating ratio. It was a huge portion enough for 3 people. Service was also great. I plan on coming here again soon.

Great Chinese restaurant. Definitely check them out. Service staff is very nice. Food is authentic and good. They also have American options too. Decent prices. Was adventurous and wanted something authentic this time and had their pork intestine dry pot. Gave lots of intestine which tasted very clean and the spices were on point.

Visited this location a couple times and it's always been a great time. Food is delicious with big portions, always have leftovers to take home. The service is fast and attentive. On my last visit they had quite a few to-go and catering orders, but they were still able to take orders and serve food without much of a wait. Will definitely visit this location more and more in the future.

“What a nice unassuming little place.”
What a nice unassuming little place! The owner was so kind and helpful. There were 6 of us and she would tell us what she recommended and was so honest. Someone would ask about one dish and she would either say of yes, it is very good or she would say, no I do not like that! She was so funny. The service was quick and the portions were huge! The noodle bowl is something that two people can eat off of. The food was very fresh tasting and we found the prices to be reasonable especially for the amount of food you get. Will be coming here again next time we are in the area.

A straightforward Chinese spot delivering authentic flavors at great prices. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup is hearty and satisfying, while the chili fish and king mushroom with egg tofu are well-seasoned with generous portions. Overall, a solid choice for authentic Chinese cuisine in downtown Evanston.

This used to be our regular place when we lived closer. We really miss it. We visit whenever we can. Still fresh food, friendly and quick service. Best milk tea, too!

“The spot is always my favorite!”
The spot is always my favorite!! Food is so delicious and also friendly staff. The waitress recommended me the hot bowl with the fire and turned out so yummy! Definitely come back!

Very nice place and soothing decorations. The staff are wonderful and thoughtful. The food was very good … just a little salty for some dishes like the beef noodle soup and a bit oily. Other than that the food tasted good and the atmosphere was really nice. There’s street parking and on Sundays it’s free. The downtown Evanston area is very nice also. Great area.

Great hand made noodles, price was very reasonable for the dish I got, and the room was cute and well kept. It's not fancy fine dining, with all the extra fluff but it was a great place to pop in for dinner from the hotel I was staying at around the corner.

“Different staff during weekdays but quality is still the same.”
Different staff during weekdays but quality is still the same. Today was mapo tofu and some fried crab wontons 😍 if you are around and want some noodles, fried pork and good Chinese food his is the place. Staff is very gentle and quantity is far more than 1 individual.
