Plenty Chinese Restaurant
Plenty Chinese Restaurant is a dependable North Center takeout favorite for generous, affordable combos, especially its famously popular chicken fried rice, wonton soup, egg drop soup, beef chop suey, and beef with pea pods; regulars also praise speedy service, crisp vegetables, and hot delivery. However, experiences are inconsistent: several reviewers reported cigarette-like odors, cleanliness concerns, and disappointing General Tso’s, orange chicken, or delivery orders.

“Food came hot and the quality was great. Tasted wonderful and will order again. I did use uber eats so I can imagine fresh in restaurant would be even better. Heads up if you do order online you will be charged extra if you ask for sauce on the side! Food was great!”

“Great food. Large portions for the price. I got the Beef chop suey and it was very good. I definitely recommend trying it out.”

“I always come here for lunch. It's usually take out but I decided to eat inside due to the rain and they were very accommodating. The egg drop soup is my favorite.”

“Love this place for their egg drop soup. It’s so delicious! Also tried chicken pad Thai which was really good (big portion and yummy)”

“Review written 02/13/2026. Ordered through Uber Eats yesterday and the vegetable egg roll was the best egg rolls I’ve ever had. The spicy chili sauce side was yummy too. The tofu wasn’t my favorite, wish they had a spicier option of tofu on menu. Rice was a little dry Would definitely recommend the vegetable egg rolls”

“I would give this place a zero stars if I can. Thought it would be good. I got the general Taos chicken, terrible. Damn near don’t think it’s even chicken, so bad. Then got the chow fun chicken, also the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Wasted $32. & still had to figure out how to feed my kid. I believe the cigarette smoke thing. They probably cook while smoking. I typically leave space for humanness but this was unbelievable.”
“One of the best places for wonton soup and chicken fried rice in the city. No fuss, easy to order.”
“I love the large portions and consistency so much! My go-to Chinese takeout!”
“This restaurant has amazing combos for an even better price!”
