“Everything tasted freshly cooked and delicious”
The food is great when it’s not served cold. I had to return the soup twice and they still never got it right.
Don’t be deceived by the bubble tea prices shown on the wall near the front door.
What you get for an almost $20 dish is definitely not worth it. Taste is just lacking.

“Joy Yee Noodle in Evanston is our forever comfort spot when the Asian food cravings kick in.”
Joy Yee Noodle in Evanston is our forever comfort spot when the Asian food cravings kick in. They seriously have everything: beef pho, KBBQ ribs, beef and kimchi fried rice, beef cubes over tomato rice, sweet & sour chicken, salted pepper Japanese tofu… and the absolute champion of all champions: the salted fish and chicken fried rice. Nothing beats it. Whether it’s just me and my husband or we roll in with a whole group, we always start with the truffle fries. Portions are solid, but we never leave without getting drinks. Their smoothies? Elite. Our go-to is the mango lychee with tapioca and lychee jelly, 10/10 every time. We pretty much find ourselves here at least once a month. It’s just that kind of place. Casual, delicious, and always hits the spot.

Joy Yee is an enigma- from the amazing food to the amazing drinks and the gigantic menu, I'm so impressed by the variety of options and the speedy and kind service here. The food is delicious and great quality, especially for the price. I will be back! Our favorites were the beef chow fun, basil shrimp, and avocado smoothie.

This Asian restaurant in downtown Evanston has a huge variety of dishes across many cuisines! Despite its name being Joy Yee Noodle, they serve far more than just noodle dishes. The food comes out very quickly, and the portions sizes are huge. I highly recommend ordering a variety of dishes and sharing them family style. We tried the beef chow fun, the sweet and sour chicken, the Malaysian seafood fried rice, and the walnut shrimp. Everything tasted freshly cooked and delicious. This place also probably has the largest boba menu you’ll ever see. Like their entrees, these boba sizes are massive. If you’re looking for a wide assortment of Asian dishes to try, come to Joy Yee!

“Omg, the news is right.”
Omg, the news is right! Their Boba is absolutely great and worth waiting for. The tapioca is fresh and made to prefection. Additionally, the flavor of the Thai tea was so original and fresh!

Pictured is the mango freeze with tapioca, lavender tea with tapioca, Summer Berry freeze, and pineapple coconut freeze with tapioca. Two of our favorites are the avocado freeze and the Taro freeze!! We go here a couple times a month for the freezes and bubble tea, but we've eaten here several times as well. The portions are big and the food is delicious!

“This is honestly one of the better Joy Yee locations.”
This is honestly one of the better Joy Yee locations! The food is so flavorful and the portions are huge - and while you may find the same menu and portions at other Joy Yee locations, we found ourselves quite disappointed at the Chinatown location in terms of flavor. The Evanston location always sets high expectations for us. This and the UIC location are our two favorites! And great place to stop at for boba too of course

“Joy Yee in Evanston is great.”
Joy Yee in Evanston is great! My first visit was on Christmas Day 2024, even though our son visits fairly often. The potstickers were wonderful and we all had leftovers to take home. If you're looking for a warm & satisfying meal, consider Joy Yee next time you're in town!

“I have been coming here since college.”
I have been coming here since college. And if you are here for the first time, you have to try few things - 1. Beef cubes over tomato sauce rice. Hands down best dish they, cant go wrong with this dish. Big chunks of meat, flavorful, umami rice. 2. Kimchi seafood udon - very hidden dish that people dont really know about, but its absolutely my 2nd favorite dish. Fusion between savory noodles and kimchi makes this dish amazing. 3. Walnut shrimp - good size shrimp, mayo based sauce and combination with walnut brings good flavor. (Not in picture) Overall, great portion, quick service, their boba is also on points. All fruit based.

“Really big portions.”
Really big portions! And decent service. I like that it’s a takeout boba place while also being a full service restaurant. They did have mostly beef or shellfish in their dishes though

“What a gem… most impressive variety of boba teas I’ve ever seen and the menu is huge with tons of options.”
What a gem… most impressive variety of boba teas I’ve ever seen and the menu is huge with tons of options. I ordered the garlic shrimp noodles and I highly recommend. The service is pretty quick and the portions are BIG so it’s well worth the price you pay. Everyone at our table was happy with their food and we all had plenty of leftovers to take home. Also restaurant and bathroom was clean and atmosphere is good for small or large groups.

5/2024 Truffle fries 🍟 with delicious aioli… doesn’t look like much but total yum All the usuals still taste stellar 🌟 7/19/2023 Chefs here did better job than the other locations even Chinatown’s. Our favs: *Malay green beans salty with fermented shrimps paste *beef short ribs tang and a bit sweet *special Pho which is HUGE enough to feed 4 ppl. *salt n pepper tofu yummy * The Vietnamese rice noodle lunch we swapped beef in. The sauce was fresh with the veggies blending in *Shaking beef over tomato paste rice. The beef was tender and the rice was just right . The shakes of course are always icy and creamy and yum. Cookies n cream, Caramel and mango this round. 2020: Good option for quick lunch. Appetizer platter was probably not the best choice. The green beans were fresh. The tomato paste fried rice was stellar under the beef. Got one to go without the meat. The drinks of course are their flagships. Finished before I can take a pic.

Loved the food and the waitress was so nice, their veggie dumplings and noodles were to die for. Will def come back here. Also they have a huge variety of drinks, slushees, and fresh juice, I got their pineapple slushy and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had anywhere.
