Hing Kee — straightforward chinese in Chinatown. Order the Soup Dumplings. Walk in and you know immediately: this place is real. Avery Fischbach: "The breading is crispy, the sauce is tangy and the chicken is tender"

“I liked the chrysanthemum and citrus drink because you could choose between hot or cold, which is perfect for Chicago's winter”
Delicious food, 10/10 would visit again.
The food came out so quick and was so so great. Everything was cooked to perfection.
The portions of the noodles were huge; I ordered a pho and a Chaoshan double meatball noodle soup, and I couldn't finish either.
So glad we visited. We parked at one of the public lots a couple blocks away.

“Delicious food, 10/10 would visit again.”
Delicious food, 10/10 would visit again. The menu is extremely large (22 pages long) so I guarantee there is something for everyone. The flavor in every bite of each dish was just delightful. My gf thought her black pepper beef and chicken soup dumplings were the best dishes we had during our entire Chicago trip.

The portions of the noodles were huge; I ordered a pho and a Chaoshan double meatball noodle soup, and I couldn't finish either. The broth was also delicious. The food came out very quickly, and the mango beef was excellent. The beef was perfectly cooked, neither too soft nor too tough. The pieces were also the perfect size for a single bite. The menu had a wide variety of options, making it hard to choose, and the drinks were also very good. I liked the chrysanthemum and citrus drink because you could choose between hot or cold, which is perfect for Chicago's winter.

“So glad we visited.”
So glad we visited! We parked at one of the public lots a couple blocks away. We went on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. The whole meal was a flavor bomb and perfect for a chilly day. We ordered the pork and crab soup dumplings, the pork fried dumplings, BBQ pork fried rice, and scallion pancakes and would get it all again. We did place a second order of the soup dumplings because our daughter liked them so much. Great service and food, so shoutout to the staff and cooks here.

Favorite items we had: Beef short rib Honey walnut shrimp Beef flat noodles Salt and pepper tofu Good quality ingredients! Portions could be slightly bigger. Plates they give you are also a little small. Great place to come as a group, you won’t regret it! Overall: 8/10

“This is a must stop place in Chicago’s Chinatown Square.”
This is a must stop place in Chicago’s Chinatown Square! My husband and I ordered a number of items and shared. This is definitely what I would recommend doing since there is so much good food! The soup dumplings were the best we had ever eaten. The service was also very quick and they accommodated my husband’s avocado allergy with our sushi roll. Very happy with our experience!

“My bf and I went there around 7 PM on Friday night, and it was packed.”
My bf and I went there around 7 PM on Friday night, and it was packed! For good reason, too! We ordered beef noodles, soy sauce noodles, chow mein, sautéed eggplants, scallion pancakes, and pepper/salt tofu. Everything was well-seasoned and tasted amazing. My favorites were the eggplants and scallion pancakes. The sautéed eggplants weren’t mushy or undercooked; they were just right, with a nice bite to them. The scallion pancake was crispy on the outside, soft, and had a nice chew on the inside. Our server was attentive, even though it was super busy! We will definitely come back again. It’s a great place for dinner.

“Worth the wait, a little chaotic on a Friday night but pretty fast service once we got seated.”
Worth the wait, a little chaotic on a Friday night but pretty fast service once we got seated. The hand pulled noodles are a must and don’t skip out on their drinks. The iced teas are incredible! Soup dumplings are as good as everyone says!

“This place was great.”
This place was great! We ordered almost the entire menu, and nothing disappointed! The staff was friendly and thorough, making sure that we ordered exactly what we wanted. The restaurant can get pretty full, but there is also outdoor seating, which I recommend if the weather is good that day. The food and aesthetic seemed pretty authenticly asian in my opinion.

“I ordered the Salt and Pepper Tofu along with Xiao Long Soup Dumplings.”
I ordered the Salt and Pepper Tofu along with Xiao Long Soup Dumplings. The Tofu was heavenly, what tasted like soft tofu fried crisply just right that melted in your mouth. The soup dumplings were okay and had less soup than I was expecting but I appreciate how they were not scalding hot when brought out. The highlight of my experience was the service, everyone was very kind and welcoming.

The orange chicken and sesame chicken come with a large side of rice and a small side of broccoli, each meal is $12.99. The breading is crispy, the sauce is tangy and the chicken is tender. The serving size is large and the service was quick and friendly. It was a bit loud but only because it was a busy evening. I highly recommend Hing Kee!
