“Were so nice to me coming in. The woman behind the counter was smiley and so sweet describing some of the pastries. I got a snow mountain bun and matcha roll. Both were delicious. Will be back”

“Bao Bae is on the second floor of 88 Marketplace in the supermarket area. So many options for cakes, buns (sweet and savory), mochi donuts, and more. Most buns are $1.99 and egg tarts are $2.49. A little on the pricier side compared to locations in Chinatown but more diverse bakery options for my liking at this location. My favorites are the mochi donuts (brought in here from Te Amo), the taro bun (not too sweet and fluffy breading), and the custard buns. Everything if individually wrapped (except for the egg tarts). Note - there is a 3% credit card processing fee for purchases under $10. They also accept cash. Stop by here for a bao next time you’re at 88 Marketplace!”

“My favorites are coconut pudding and matcha cake roll! Strongly recommend”

“They got a lock on milk bread, and mango 🥭 杨枝甘露,Ube mochi cake, that cake they do… woah 桃胶🍑 peach jelly is a tad sweet but yum. I am not a ube girl but had to try their creation. Absolutely gorgeous and delish!♥️🥰🎉🎉 The osmanthus jelly pudding and the coconut pudding were well packed and delicious!”

“Bao Bae Bakery is located on the 2nd floor food court with Market 88 grocery store. All the bakery items I purchased were fresh, soft, and delicious! They take pride in their bake goods. I really like the variety available and how all the baked goods were individually wrapped, which meant eating the next day still tasted as good! The counter tops and bakery bins were clean and wiped down. I would absolutely buy from this bakery again. I would NOT recommend sitting in the narrow small limited space food court. The food court tables and countertops were sticky and filthy. It's cleaner to take your baked goods "to go."”

“Written to “Pop” by *NSYNC Sick and tired of hearin’ All these people talk about What’s the deal with Bao Bae And when am I gonna try it out? The thing I did not realize What their doin is not a trend They’ve got the gift of bakery I had a taste, I highly recommend C’mon now It does matter Bout the freshness strived, and the variety on deck Not to flatter, It’s run by two local guys inside 88 Market In fact what’s badder Bread so soft I swear All the things you gotta try All that matters Listen to what I’ve typed And you’ll be satisfied every time C'mon now Have you tried the egg tart pie? It truly is divine Melo Melo on the side You’ll feel it when your body is in shock Eating and can’t stop (You can’t stop) And Bao Bae hits the spot Chowbus delivers if you can’t shop”

“Ordered several cakes from them for the holidays. They were soft, delicious, and not too sweet. Will be back to try their puddings.”

“Paid close to $9 for a mooncake with red bean paste and egg Yolks. It didn’t taste as good as the ones from Costco and was much smaller. What a ripoff!!”
“We tried the bbq pork, the pineapple & the sausage buns. All were very good!”
“Fresh pasties, breads, treats, tarts, cakes, custards, etc sold here within the food court section upstairs at 88 Marketplace. So hard to miss! You can't pass it up without the fresh smell of baked goods stopping you in your tracks. I wish there were more fresh pastries to choose from. Fresh pastries are wrapped in plastic bags protected in plastic bins awaiting hungry customers, panadería style (self-service). Grab some tongs and a tray and get busy! I loved my creamy custard bun and fluffy golden bun. Big portions for fabulous prices- $2.19 each (on average) before tax. 😋”
