Grand Palace — dependable Chinatown chinese known for the Duck. Classic neighborhood feel, nothing here chasing trends. Nothing here has been watered down. Easy on the wallet, owner-operated. Pj: "The fish was incredibly fresh and tender, with a soy sauce base and a hint of ginger"

“We visited this Chinese restaurant for dinner and tried a variety of authentic Cantonese dishes”
chicken wing was raw, all pink inside. i'm pregnant and this was gross to see.
Saw the reviews for this place were good so tried to visit. We were waiting for 15 minutes to be seated.
The place is very dirty. There's some black spots on the tea cup and the plates have many scratches.

This is an authentic Chinese restaurant that truly feels like home when you walk in. The food is both affordable and delicious, making it a great value. The black pepper beef was especially tender and flavorful a definite highlight of the meal. I’ll definitely be coming back again! Lady boss was also so friendly

“We visited this Chinese restaurant for dinner and tried a variety of authentic Cantonese dishes.”
We visited this Chinese restaurant for dinner and tried a variety of authentic Cantonese dishes. There were five of us, and we ordered nine different items to sample. Everything was flavorful and delicious. My personal favorites were the steamed fish and duck. The fish was incredibly fresh and tender, with a soy sauce base and a hint of ginger. The duck was also very flavorful—slightly salty, but it paired perfectly with white rice. The vegetable dishes were equally impressive. Overall, if you’re looking for authentic Cantonese cuisine, this is definitely a place to try!

“I have visited Grand Palace for no less than 20 times - it’s hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in Chicago.”
I have visited Grand Palace for no less than 20 times - it’s hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in Chicago. Perfect when you’re in the mood for home-cooked Cantonese food. The food is cheap and staff is super warm and welcoming! Some of my favorite dishes include the salt & pepper egg tofu, scrambled eggs w/ shrimp, pork belly w/ pepper, salted egg yolk squid, garlic pea shoots, and steamed fish!

“No frills dinner at Mom’s house in this quaint family-run Chinese restaurant.”
No frills dinner at Mom’s house in this quaint family-run Chinese restaurant. She doesn’t plate on the grandest of tableware, but the dishes are made with a whole lot of heart and come out hot & mouthwatering. Will be back to explore more of the menu. 👍 salted egg fried shrimp: crispy, juicy shrimp seasoned w/ salted egg 👍 pork belly & peppers: high-heat stir fried w/ a nice chew. Pairs well with white rice.
