Chiu Quon Bakery — reliable chinese in Chinatown. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed. Flavors that haven't been adjusted for mass appeal. Cash only. Juliet Tecson: "The quality is solid, with options that cater to both sweet and savory cravings"

“This spot has no seating, but has this standing bar area against the front window, and it was perfect to eat your bakery goods here”
“This authentic Chinese bakery got various decent breads and desserts.”
This authentic Chinese bakery got various decent breads and desserts. I really enjoyed the pineapple bun. It got a pleasing and light sweet taste of flour. The egg tart was also great, but not as impressive as their bread. Some frozen Chinese buns were available for cooking at home. The price was reasonable.

I try to stop here any time I go to Chinatown, for example after getting my license renewed at the Chinatown DMV (which I also recommend, the service is great there). The Portuguese egg tarts taste as good as when I ate them in Portugal, but the red bean moon cakes are my absolute favorite, when they’re in season. I like to try something new every time I go - there’s such a variety that I can do that. Remember, it is cash only, though they have an ATM.

“Prices were very cheap.”
Prices were very cheap. I got quite a bit for a quick breakfast for a little over 6 dollars. Definitely recommend the curry bun and Portuguese egg tart.

“Always amazing and consistent quality here.”
Always amazing and consistent quality here. They are cash only but there is an ATM inside. Our favorites are the strawberry sponge cake and the egg tarts. They also have a variety of frozen buns that are really good to steam or even air fry at home.

“Very clean and well lit bakery - cash only.”
Very clean and well lit bakery - cash only. Egg tarts are good (our favorite bakery is in San Fransisco China town has the best ones) however, they are freshly made. We greatly enjoyed the large bag of fortune cookies - $8! There was a tall table next to the front window, no stools, if you want to have a quick bite before leaving.

Great place. 1st time here. We ordered 4 different items ( hotdog bun, bbq bun, coconut bun, and sponge cake ), and neither of them disappointed us. Everything was great tasting. Light. And full of flavor. 10/10 would recommend. ***CASH ONLY***

“A lovely quaint place.”
A lovely quaint place! A great place to get buns, pastries and much more! The place is CASH only but they have an ATM within the bakery so that’s convenient. Food : We got red bean baby mooncake. It was tasty and lovely! Service : Really sweet team and the cashier can speak in English which helps to discuss and understand the pastries better
