“Huge portions and delicious food! It was my first time & hadn’t realized it was so small & not really a place to sit inside to eat, but the food was so delicious, it was definitely worth taking it to go! I will be back! Thank you! (P.S. the photo was after I had already eaten a decent amount! lol)”

“So happy to have fallen upon this place! The people running the place were super friendly and the food was incredibly delicious. We tried some oxtail, brown chicken stew, a patty and a saltfish fritter. We also got to sample some jerk sauce which was incredible. The food was all super tasty and hit the spot big time! I cannot wait to come back to try more delicious food that was cooked from the heart! Dont miss this gem!”

“Before even stepping inside, the aromas from their kitchen drifting out onto the street already reassured me that I was in good hands. No indoors seating here so it's more of a takeout operation. I went with some friends and was able to try a good variety of dishes: jerk chicken, brown stew chicken, and curry chicken. Out of the three, we all thought that the jerk chicken is the best: juicy, smoky, and flavorful. We also all agreed that the brown stew chicken was the second best item. This doesn't mean that the curry chicken is lackluster, it was decent. The other two dishes were just really great.”

“Soooo delicious and they’re rice and beans is a MUST TRY !!! 3rd time here and I keep coming back. Very affordable too ! Definitely recommend this place. Very nice owners as well.”

“Best jerk chicken, ox tail, and beef patty I ever ate! Overall best Jamaican food that I have tried. I’ll definitely be coming back. Jackie is so kind and sweet to everyone who walks in.”

“The food and service was awesome. I was there for a private event and really enjoyed the food. The owner was so nice and accommodating to all the guest. I definitely recommend”

“Spice Restaurant is a small storefront restaurant with counter service. There was a welcoming sign that said you can eat out back but we didn't see that seating this visit. There was also a cafe table available in front. We found free street parking around the corner with a very short walk to the door. We don't have Jamaican food often and were looking forward to it. I have to say the food was even better than we were hoping for. I had the Brown Stew served over white rice. Cabbage with a few carrots and green beans were served as a side. Everything was absolutely delicious! The tray I was served was about $25. The serving size was so generous that I found it to be enough for two meals. The service was very friendly and personable. While definitely a public commercial kitchen it felt a bit like being in someone's personal kitchen. We will certainly return and will be having Jamaican food more often.”
“I can’t wait to come back! I got the jerk pork and oxtail and both were delicious. The oxtail was so tender and the rice and peas with gravy was pure comfort. Definitely worth a visit!”
“Best jerk chicken. The owners were so kind and gave samples of pasta which was delicious as well. Also their backyard patio so cozy and warm felt like home. It’s a must visit.”
“Spice is a fantastic Evanston gem. I highly recommend the cabbage medley, jerk chicken as well as their plantains! Great place for hosting summer events too”
“Had the best experience at Spice!! We had an outdoor, buffet style dinner in the back patio. Truly felt so welcomed and taken care of. The food, service, and atmosphere was outstanding. Definitely worth coming back again and again to continue supporting this amazing small business.”
