Jerk & Soul Food
Jerk & Soul Food wins regulars with tender, flavorful jerk chicken and wings, rich oxtails, rice and peas with savory gravy, yams, greens, plantains, and cheesy mac & cheese—generous portions that many say are worth the wait. Friendly service and a casual, welcoming atmosphere suit takeout or a relaxed meal, but preparation can run 30–90 minutes, menu items may sell out, and reviews mention inconsistent hours or closure.

“I got the jerk chicken with mashed potatoes and plantains. Love the seasoning on the chicken and it was so tender. Plantains go good with the spice. Mashed potatoes are perfect and their gravy is fire. Love that peppa sauce too!”

“I ordered from Jerk and Soul Food during happy hour in Door Dash and was impressed by the pricing and portion sizes. I went with the jerk wings and picked candied yams and cabbage as my sides. Everything arrived hot and fresh, and the generous helping even included a bed of rice and peas under the chicken, which was a nice surprise! The cabbage had great depth of flavor thanks to the seasonings and smoked meat, and the yams were rich and had a really smooth texture. Unfortunately, the wings didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I love spicy food, but the heat overpowered any traditional, smoked jerk flavor I was hoping for as the chicken itself lacked seasoning beyond the sauce. Even though the wings were a letdown, I can see why the restaurant has so many great reviews. I probably won’t reorder right away, but I’m open to giving them another try.”

“I ordered the lunch special catfish and fries for $9.99 with a side of dressing my total was $17 .. they gave me one piece of catfish and dressing on the side w no fries”
“I love this restaurant what happened???? Why aren't you open??”
“First time eating here. I was visiting from Wisconsin. We went around noon. Everything was fresh and hot. Wait time was close to 30mins. I have been thinking about this restaurant ever since I tried it! Try it for yourself to be the judge. I will be back soon!”
“I came from Wisconsin to try this food. I will till you every time I am near this place I will be stopping in. Some of the best jerk and soul I've ever eaten. The service was top-notch; I do not know if the lady that served me was the owner or not, but regardless of the fact (she was wonderful).”
“It took them a while to prepare my food but the food was so delicious it was worth the wait. I had the jerk wing dinner with greens, mac & cheese, and a side of cabbage. The wings were so tender they were falling off the bone. Just the right amount of spice. I read another review that the mac & cheese was Caribbean style and more like box mac & cheese but that was not my experience. It was flavorful and cheesy. Everything was flavorful and the gravy on the rice and peas were delicious as well. I'd definitely return but be prepared to wait.”
“Excellent customer service it’s worth a visit and they food is so delicious they have put some love into their food I will be back soon thanks again for your service 😊”
“Wonderful service here and quick with it also beautiful atmosphere. 🙏”
“The food was delicious!! I got jerk chicken that comes with beans and rice underneath. I got yams and mashed potatoes on the side, both yummy. I also got banana pudding for dessert. I haven’t tasted it yet but was bummed it wasn’t home made. I asked if it was homemade and was told yes, but I should’ve asked if it was made from scratch because that’s what I was looking for and it wasn’t. The atmosphere was okay. They have counter top tables along the window/wall and high chairs so you can eat in if you like but no one did while I was there. It took a little while to get the food but definitely worth it. The customer service was really good, very nice ladies!”
