Morton's The Steakhouse — an american spot in Loop. The walls could tell stories. There's real intention behind the cocktail list. "The short rib meat on the tacos was very tender and I loved the slice of fresh avocado" — Qofu2

“We LOVED everything.”
We LOVED everything! The steaks were perfectly cooked, the sides were well portioned, bread was dough yet crispy to perfection, we each had a different dessert and loved them all, AND Melisandra, our server, gave 5 star service! Thank you for the recommendations and details about each dish!

“This review is for the promotional they were running called Bubbles and Bites in the bar.”
This review is for the promotional they were running called Bubbles and Bites in the bar. This promo had been running the month of January and The Doctor, The Queen and I decided to go down and check it out. The idea of getting a "Happy Meal" in Veuve Clicquot boxes with a glass of Veuve had me dialed in. We got there at 4 pm and as we round the corner, I saw people already walking in. So glad we go there when we did be cause it filled up very quickly and I noticed that some spots at the bar and a few tables had reserve signs on them. Morton's Bubbles & Bites promotion paired a glass of Veuve Clicquot 'Yellow Label' or a Belvedere Martini with smash burger sliders (cheddar cheese, dill pickles, ‘Special Sauce,’ Brioche Bun) and matchstick fries with truffle and parmesan for $29. When you think about what a glass of Veuve cost, this was a steal as far as I was concerned. The burgers were their smash burgers and they were very good. I was happy to see the size of them, as along with the fries, it was easily a light dinner. As we didn't know at the time what we would be getting in terms of the portion, we also order the short rib tacos (braised short ribs, pickled red onion, sliced avocado, chipotle mayonnaise). The Happy Meals came out in these very cute Veuve Yellow boxes for the burgers and a fry holder for the fries. Both containers were placed on what looked like a charging plate with a serving of ketchup for the fries (nope nope nope). The burger, fries and tacos were delish and hit the spot for a light dinner. The short rib meat on the tacos was very tender and I loved the slice of fresh avocado. And there is no need to discuss how lovely the Veuve was as that goes without saying. Despite it being a full house at the bar, Emma (bartender) was totally on point in getting drinks and taking orders. She was not only working the bar, she was working the tables in the bar area as well. As it got closer to 5:30 pm, more help came in, but Emma was werking that area. Not sure what role Jesse played, but assumed he was a front room person since he and another gentleman were in suits, but helping out. Emma and Jesse (excuse me if that is not how you spell your name) were very responsive in taking care of us. We got to chat with Jesse a little bit about the promotion and I mentioned to him that I saw where Bubbles & Bites was unavailable in Atlanta from January 26-28. He didn't know why, I was just glad it was going strong in Chicago. Jesse mentioned that Morton's might be doing other theme related promotions like this centered around holidays, like St Pat's or Cinco de Mayo. I would definitely check those out. So glad we came out and had a great time with our Happy Meals. Looking forward to doing this promo next year. "Vive la différence"!

“We stopped into Morton’s and tried the Adult Happy Meal, and honestly it’s a fun, solid win.”
We stopped into Morton’s and tried the Adult Happy Meal, and honestly it’s a fun, solid win. Everything comes in their cute signature box, which sets the tone right away. The chicken sandwich was good, but the burger was really good—juicy, flavorful, and worth the trip back on its own. The fries are solid too, especially when they come out hot (worth confirming). The Veuve Clicquot was exactly what you expect—clean, crisp, and the perfect “fancy” pairing to wash it all down. I had my burger sauce on the side, my friend ordered giardiniera on the side, and we ended up trading—she used my sauce on her chicken sandwich, and I topped my burger with her pickled onions plus a touch of mustard. That combo alone made the visit worth it. Portions are generous: two larger-than-slider burgers and a good amount of fries, so if you’re not a big eater, this is easy to share or save for later. We were seated upstairs in the bar area, which was very clean and comfortable. Our server Hannah was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I didn’t catch the bartender’s name, but he was working that Saturday afternoon (1/17/26) and shaking cocktails like it mattered, and it showed. I ordered an extra drink, and it was one of the best lemon drops I’ve had: smooth, balanced, not overly sweet, and not too lemony. Great downtown spot to pop in and definitely worth a return visit.

“The seafood tower appetizers were amazing.”
The seafood tower appetizers were amazing. The Bleu cheese butter on your steak is amazing. The Oscar topping for your steak is also very good. Great wine list and cocktail menu.

“We made a last minute reservation online for our anniversary dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse in Chicago.”
We made a last minute reservation online for our anniversary dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse in Chicago. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the team and congratulated on our anniversary, which was a lovely start to the evening. We had a short wait for our table while the team decorated it for us, which was a really nice touch. Once seated, we admired the table decorations before being introduced to our server, Melisanda. She was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to guide us through the menu and share some helpful recommendations. Our drinks orders were taken and we were given plenty of time to decide on our food choices. Melisanda returned with our drinks, then took our food orders, and not long after we were served some warm, freshly baked bread while we waited for our mains. When our main courses arrived, we were impressed with the portion sizes. We had been advised that the side dishes were large, but we were still surprised at just how generous they were. The steaks were cooked perfectly and packed with flavour, and the side dishes were delicious, though there was far too much for us to finish. Despite being full, we couldn’t resist sharing a cheesecake for dessert. It was beautifully presented and came with a little chocolate piece saying “congratulations,” which was another thoughtful detail. As we were about to take a selfie, Melisanda kindly offered to take a picture for us, and later surprised us by returning with a printed photo in a lovely picture holder, a wonderful keepsake from the evening. Overall, the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The entire team went above and beyond to make our night special, and Melisanda in particular really stood out for her exceptional service. If you are looking for a memorable dinner with thoughtful touches in Chicago, I would definitely recommend Morton’s Steakhouse.

“Visited Morton's on my birthday during a trip to Chicago.”
Visited Morton's on my birthday during a trip to Chicago. Everything was perfection. My fiancé had the lobster bisque, lamb chops with brussels. I had the lobster ravioli with jumbo asparagus. The drinks were awesome and dare I say that I enjoyed this Morton's better than the one in NYC😬. We didn't want to be uncomfortably stuffed at the end so we did skip out on the bread and butter. But thats also delicious as we've visited Mortons before. I would definitely visit again. Service, ambiance, food, A+.

“Ordered the lobster bisque and was fabulous.”
Ordered the lobster bisque and was fabulous. Big piece of Lobster in the bisque with so much flavor you could taste many ingredients and it all came together and left the palate with a lingering taste of seafood and cream . Also ordered the 16oz. New York steak mid-rare which was 2 inches thick and was probably more towards 18oz. In ordered the steak mid-rare and it came out rare which I rather have than medium. I did tell the bartender which she agreed but it tasted great and ate it as was. Expensive but worth it .

“We stopped here on Christmas Day without any reservation.”
We stopped here on Christmas Day without any reservation. The restaurant was very busy but we found a spot at the bar and were happy to eat there. I ordered a glass of wine and my other half ordered an old fashioned (which he said was very good). I had the lobster ravioli which was amazing, probably the best version of this type of dish I have had. The portion was huge and there was a good amount of lobster, I felt very full after eating this. My partner had the NY Strip which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. He ordered the green beans as his side which were tasty, albeit a little different with the Szechuan seasoning. After our main courses we were too full to order desserts. We did order the Morton coffees though which were good (and very boozy). Bill came to about $100 a head (including tax and tip) which we didn’t think was too bad given the quality of the food. We would definitely return here if we are in the area.
