Express Grill
Express Grill — american in Chinatown. Order the Polish Sausage. The kind of spot that earns loyalty, not hype. Well-priced, open late. Preston Gibson: "Sausage was juicy and onions had that perfect char, fries were crispy, and the crew was quick and chill" [$]

“BEST OF BEST polish sausage in CHICAGO land. Highly recommend this place.”

“This is the place to stop when you are craving a traditional Polish Sausage! The grilled onions are amazing and come with fries. Ironically Jim's Original is more well known for its sausage but the locals prefer Express Grill. What's really awesome is that Express grill is only 50 feet south of jim's so you can/should try both that's what l did. Express Grill sausages are a little bigger and meatier (less saltier too) and the fries are less seasoned. It's Great late night drunk food at a great price. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Chicago. stand up tables limited parking. 100% Recommend!”

“The polish sausage was absolutely delicious! So were the fries! The sausage was very flavorful and warm and I would definitely recommend getting the grilled onions and mustard with it. Beware the hot peppers because they are quite hot. The sausages also came with fries already which was great since they are crispy on the outside, warm, and not dry. The guy was very nice and made sure to confirm which toppings we wanted and that we got the orders that we each wanted. Our orders came out very quick too! It was unfortunate that so many people were lined up at the other stand when there was no line at this one and the food is so good! The guys in the kitchen were just waiting for people to come by and instantly went to work once we ordered! Overall great experience!”

“I have been coming here for almost 3 decades when I'm visiting the area. The best part here is they can split and grill your Polish Sausage which brings out the flavor from the center of the sausage. They also have an option to add their own homemade spicy mustard. Highly recommend it. They listen carefully to your specific instructions and they are very quick here. There is two places that compete on this street a few steps away from each other. Make sure you go to the one that says "Express Grill", the polish sausage is better in my opinion.”

“Fast service, great polish sausage. I would even go as far as to say I prefer it over Jim’s. The sausages have good bite and are well seasoned. Onions are grilled with a slight char. The French fries are not as good as the ones at Jim’s at the other side of the block.”

“Something about that smell grilled onions and always the same constant taste that never changes you know your going to get some good ol maxwell street type food. No matter what time of day you can never go wrong eating here. Must try especially if your visiting from out of town. F.Y.I. they now have pizza puffs 👌 The only thing I will never get again is the Italian ice especially the strawberry flavor dont recommend. The regular flavor was better but I would skip it anyway. The food is a must though. They are not open 24hrs no more they close at 1am.”

“点了双层肉饼的芝士汉堡,送薯条。八美金,没法坐下,只能站在有架子的路边。 这个店里面的汉堡跟其他地方吃到的不太一样。首先,汉堡很新鲜,还发烫。其次,之前吃过的汉堡肉饼里面会加一些菜,而这个店选择加铁板过的洋葱和辣椒。辣椒有点辣。 薯条非常选择非常好,发甜,有可能是用他们自己选的土豆做的。”

“Polish dog was a bit too intense and overloaded for me, kinda sloppy onions. Prob good for those who want a big meal and lots of meat - not my kinda hot dog. May need to try Polish dogs elsewhere in Chicago to compare properly. I accidentally came here instead of going to Jim’s which is like two doors down lol.”
“Express Grill is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Alex very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Maxwell street polish is good. Must come back. 10/10.”
