“After you sit down, you get greeted by a comforting bowl of lugaw. I was so confused because I didn't order it until I realized this is their way of saying welcome with their complimentary rice porridge. It was such a warm hug to my tummy and a great way to start a delicious breakfast. You can choose traditional American or go Filipino. I got the combo with the baby bangus and longanisa and it comes with garlic rice, eggs, and their beans. omg, I think I never need bacon again after having their fried fish. Will have to come down for the daddy bangus next time!! My girlfriend came not hungry and then ate a full American breakfast with your lugaw and three cups of coffee, so don't worry, you'll leave with a full stomach no matter what you get!”

“Feels like you’re in your Lola’s kitchen with the mixed match silverware and old school plates etc… hands down best Filipino breakfast in Chicago. Bonus points for being down the street, because whenever I’m feeling a cold come on a giant order of lugaw from here is the perfect fix! Just know there is usually a wait on the weekends.”

“Absolutely delicious and definitely worth the wait! Servers were quick and attentive. Saw many reviews recommend the skirt steak and I couldn’t agree more. Went with the skirt steak and longanisa combo and was very satisfied. 100% recommend a visit and plan accordingly for the wait because they are popular!”

“We love their Filipino breakfast. They serve you with soup - lugaw just like congee but better. My fave is the tocino and longganisa combo but baby bangus is good too. They used to give you more rice but they serve so little now. They also used to serve champorado which is sweetened rice with chocolate for dessert. It’s our go-to place for breakfast even if we have to drive from the suburbs. The front area of the restaurant is nice. The back area does not look nice. Hope they fix it someday.”

“We were greeted with a bowl of bean soup and lugaw before we had even ordered, which felt like the best kind of welcome. The hospitality was what I'd expect from fellow Filipinos, just warm enough and very efficient. The food was great, and the price definitely reflects the portion size. (I had to take some in a box because I was absolutely stuffed.) It's a great spot if you're homesick and craving Pinoy comfort food, but also awesome if you've never had it and want to dip your toe in.”

“Arrived at 11:15 on a Saturday, about 15 min wait. Absolutely incredible food. I went with the Tocino / Baby Bangus. Great service too, they make sure you always have coffee.”

“Filipino SILOG dishes are available, I ordered the Bangsilog (BANGus, SInangag, ItLOG) and it came with Champorado. The LUGAW was a surprise! They gave each of us a lugaw bowl while waiting for the food. They also have American breakfast options. Such a great place to take non-filipino friends. Food is delicious. Staff is great.”

“Really authentic and down to earth filipino breakfast place. Come here several time and definitely more. Highly recommend”
