“Food and service was great. Definitely worth the wait.”

“Amazing food, good service and the waiting time wasn’t long”

“Order ahead to skip the line. Worth the hype! Basque cake and longaniza breakfast sandwich were delicious.”

“One of my most anticipated visits during my Chicago trip and it did not disappoint! Definitely order online to skip the line and get your food to go. This place loses some stars due to the inside being too crammed for a relaxing atmosphere and the location is also in kind of an awkward spot with basically no outdoor seating and no shade if you do end up standing in line outside. The dessert menu is a must try with absolutely delicious options. The Filipino breakfast was such a filling savory dish. I also got the Manila Fog drink which was earthy and refreshing on such a hot Chicago day.”

“Food: The pastries are almost second to none! The breakfast sandwiches are good and reasonably priced, but there are other restaurants with no long lines that also serve great breakfast sandwiches in Chicago. They serve Dark Matter coffee, so you're not getting something you can't get elsewhere in that department. (I have not tried their other menu items or been for dinner.) Wait: I've been twice, once around 1 pm on a Thursday and once around opening on a Thursday. In the early afternoon there was almost no line, so I'd recommend going later if you don't mind possibly not having the full selection of pastries. Otherwise, I'd advise ordering pastries and sandwiches ahead. I can't judge them for the lines, they are very popular and for good reason. I think it's up to each person to decide if it's worth their time to wait in line to eat inside. Pictured: Matcha Pandan Eclair (delicious!). I also love the Ube Huckleberry Basque Cake”

“I came in the morning for the pastries and they were all amazing. The truffle croissant is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.”

“This was a wonderful place to eat. Everything was good from the pastries, drinks, and entrees. Would 100% go again”

“This was my second visit to Kasama, this time because a friend wanted to experience it. We only waited about 30 minutes in line, which wasn’t bad at all. My first visit two years ago, I tried the Filipino Breakfast Combo. It was good, but I honestly thought it was just average and didn’t really stand out. This time I ordered the Pork Belly Adobo. While it was tender, I felt it lacked the bold, savory punch I was expecting. The real highlight of the meal was getting the last Breakfast Sandwich of the day—and wow, that absolutely lived up to the hype! It was packed with flavor and easily my favorite item. I’d definitely order it again. And of course, their pastries are simply to die for. Those alone are worth coming back for! Overall, while not every savory dish wowed me, the breakfast sandwich and incredible pastries keep Kasama high on my list for another visit.”

“I’ve been wanting to get here for years and it did not disappoint! 1000% worth the wait. Fresh, delicious, made with love. You can taste it. And top tier service. We had the breakfast sandwich, mushroom and pork belly adobo, the foie gras danish. And took home the Ube/Huckleberry Cake and a blueberry tart. Already planning on what to get next time!”

“Very delicious. Big portion and very fresh 33 dollars for an iced espresso, chicken rice and pecan caramel roll here”

“Almost everyone I know who has been to Chicago told me to visit Kasama, and now I totally get why. They're a two michelin star modern filipino spot that's a bakery by day and a tasting menu restaurant by night. The line is almost always crazy long. Pro tip: place an online order right when they open in the morning so you can skip the line for pickup. I went close to 2pm, so I only waited about 15 minutes for brunch, but most of the pastries and breakfast sandwiches were already sold out. *Matcha Pandan Eclair $9.5 ** The biggest éclair I've ever seen! You get a mini version on their tasting menu, but the bakery sells this full-size beauty. My favorite pastry from the haul! I loved the crunch from the toasted genmai and the light pandan whipped cream. I just wish the matcha flavor was stronger. *Black Truffle Croissant $16 * Every bite was packed with black truffle flavor, and with fresh shaved black truffle, truffle oil, and a premium truffle filling, I could see why it costs $16. You also get a mini version on the tasting menu. But I wasn't a fan of the crunchy pearl sugar on top. I ended up shaving it all off. *Ube & Huckleberry Basque Cake $9 Loved the little powdered sun stencil inspired by the Philippine flag. It was filled with ube pastry cream and huckleberry. Personally, I found the filling too sweet for my liking. *Filipino Breakfast $20 ** I originally wanted their signature longanisa breakfast sandwich, but it was sold out, so the staff recommended this instead. Best recommendation ever, I even thanked them before I left! Every component was so thoughtfully done, especially the meats. Now I need to come back for the tasting menu. *Oh, Hot Yam $6.85 ** Hands down the best ube latte I've had. Super ube-forward with a hint of coconut sap that made it even more comforting on a chilly rainy day in Chicago.”
