“We only cale here for my 15 year old sister. This review is based from her thoughts. SHE LOVED IT! She found out about this place and their push-up sushi from TikTok. She loved everything about it. The whole concept is interesting. The space is small, but well laid out. They also have sushi by the weight where you go and pick your sushi, as much as you want and pay by weight.”

“UMI Sushi has always been a favourite of mine, Chicago’s first pay-by-weight sushi spot at 60 E Jackson is already such a genius concept. But their latest addition, PUSH Sushi, has completely levelled things up. The concept is brilliant and honestly so fun: a full sushi roll packed into a tube, soy sauce attached to the side, and you just push the roll up from the bottom piece by piece. No plates, no chopsticks, no mess; just you and your sushi, standing on a downtown street like a well-fed adult eating a sushi push pop. The rolls are a solid, satisfying size too; this isn’t a gimmick snack, it’s a proper, filling meal. I tried all four flavours, and here are my honest thoughts: 🔥 P1. Flaming Hot Cheetos California: I don’t know who approved this combination, but thank you. Crabmeat, avocado, cucumber, eel sauce, spicy mayo AND Flaming Hot Cheetos? The crunch, the heat, the creaminess; it’s chaotic in the best way. My absolute favourite and I will be coming back for this one specifically. 🍣 P2. Salmon Like Phily: The smoked salmon with cream cheese and spicy mayo is such a classic combo for a reason. Smooth, rich, and deeply satisfying. Easily my second favourite. 🍤 P3. Captain Crunch: Tempura shrimp with eel sauce and sesame seeds. Crispy, savoury, great texture throughout. 🥑 P4. Caterpillar: Tempura shrimp topped with avocado and eel sauce. Clean, fresh flavours and beautiful to look at. The kiosk ordering is quick and easy, and the whole experience is perfect for a grab-and-go lunch in the Loop. One roll genuinely keeps you full. UMI keeps innovating and I’m here for every bit of it. Highly, highly recommend.”

You'll get to try assortments of sushi's then they'll weigh it in the counter to see the price. Love that you have this kind of a place where you can get sushi fast, I mean FAST within 2 mins.!, reasonable price, friendly staff, and in a great location! Great concept for a Sushi Restaurant!! 🍣 Be careful with the Wasabi (in the packet) because it's the real one, it bites!, just try a very small amount first. This is a small restaurant like those sushi places in Japan, you can dine here when it's not busy, you can also have your sushi to go!”

I honestly think the quality is also good for the price that you are paying. I got a 10% discount by showing my university card. Although I was lucky to be able to sit down and eat every time I went, there is limited seating (a row of bar chairs by the window).”
