“Outstanding lobster roll! Chunks of lobster meat lightly dressed in an herbed mayo and served on a great New England-style roll. It's definitely the best I've found in Chicago, and the price can't be beat. The side of vinegar-based cole slaw (with red bell pepper) acts as a bright palate cleanser between bites. You've made this New Englander very happy! Check out the rest of the store, too. The display case is filled with so many delicious seafood options. There are also a lot of sauces, beverages, and tools to help with your seafood adventures.”

“Aaron and his team were absolutely wonderful from start to finish. They provided an incredible in-home dining experience for our group of 20+ guests, with fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented dishes. The appetizers and full course dinner was delicious — you could truly taste the quality and care that went into the food. Beyond the amazing meal, the service was wonderful. The team was attentive, professional, and so thoughtful, making sure every guest felt taken care of (considerate of all dietary restrictions among our group). We all had such a lovely evening! If you’re looking for a top-notch catering experience with fresh seafood and excellent service, I highly recommend The Fish Guy.”

“Tons of great food and wine options at the Fish Guy! Highly recommend. The new owner has really made this place look sharp—he’s clearly a man of impeccable taste.”

“This is a fantastic take on a traditional New England style lobster roll, in which the cooked lobster chunks is served as a lobster salad on a toasted split top bun. The lobster salad was amazing and the portion size is robust!! The dressing on the cold hunks of lobster was simply made of mixing mayo, celery, lemon juice, salt and pepper. I tasted a hint of dill but was delicious nonetheless. There is no in-store seating allowed and all prepared foods or purchases are to-go. The shop is simple decor, just fresh seafood to pick-up and go. This is a quiet hidden gem in Albany Patk. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Well worth the visit for this amazing lobster roll.”

“Tried there Lobster Roll, but more of a Lobster Salad Roll, but if you're in a hurry and on a budget, quite a fun lunch option in the neighborhood!!”

“This was going to be a 5 star review. Service was friendly. Place was clean. I had this on my bucket list for a long time. Got the famous lobster roll. I was so excited to have one as the reviews all said it’s a must have. I took my bag and headed to my car to start indulging. The roll was not warm or toasty at all. That’s fine I’ll let it go. After the second bite I felt a sharp pain as a razor sharp piece of the lobster shell stabbed be in my gums between two teeth. It got lodged in far and deep. Tried to get it out with some of the business cards in my car. Didn’t work. I went to the first Walgreens I can find and purchased the floss with hook at the end. I was barely able to get the piece out. It was bloody and painful. I went back to carefully finish the sandwich. The coleslaw taste more like sauerkraut than coleslaw. I’m not happy with the food. I gave them one star for good service and won’t be suing.”
“The selection of fish is outstanding, all with premium quality, most sushi grade. The fjord trout is best I have seen and tasted. Daily made escabeche (had razor clam day we went) is a must try, fresh as can be! Appreciate the quality canned selections to try, some that are new to us. Staff is very informative, friendly, with perfect preparation instructions.”
“Stopped in there to treat myself after a long workweek. I've always been a seafood lover but the better quality is often hard to come by unless you're willing to pay up. And this place is not inexpensive. When I left this place I knew a lot more than when I stepped inside, thanks to the folks working there. Came home with a highly recommended fluke filet (summer flounder from Massachusetts waters) and sauteed it up for dinner and. Oh. My. Incredible. Also have tried the Monkfish...which was good. Will be back for that occasional indulgence in high quality fish or shellfish. I want to try the sushi grade salmon at some point. I know my cats do too. Just a tad too pricey for me.”
“This place is clean fun and really nice worker. Will be back again and again.”
“I've been here a few times and I'm impressed by their operation on many levels. The staff is highly knowledgeable regarding products. For example, they had some beautiful fjord trout, and I asked an employee about them. He provided an in-depth explanation of the fish, where it was caught, and how environmental factors created the flavor characteristics of the species. They package products well and gladly include freezer packs if you are traveling out of the local area. The products I've purchased here have been at once unique and of excellent quality. Pricing, selection and customer service is better than Dirk's. Product selection, though much smaller, is FAR superior to Supreme Lobster's retail spot in Villa Park. Overall The Fish Guy is a great asset to the city and I recommend it.”
