“You can’t go wrong with a small, locally owned restaurant. My friend and I decided to give it a try, and I must say, it’s one of the best Thai places I’ve ever been to in Illinois. The food is simply amazing! The quality and flavors are at the best I’ve ever experienced. The prices are also incredibly reasonable, making it a great value for money. It reminded me of the delicious Thai food I had when I visited Thailand in my younger days. The service was good, although I did feel a bit rushed since there was only one waitress. However, the food was worth the wait, so it wasn’t a major issue. The ambiance was great. The decor was warm and welcoming, and it reminded me of the restaurants I used to love back in the day. It was a refreshing change from the modern, sterile restaurants that are so common these days. Overall, I highly recommend this hidden gem. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves Thai food.”

“All dishes we had were very fresh and tasty. My husband especially loves getting the crispy flat noodles”

“Damnnnnnn the parang noodle with chicken was delicious!!! Just a tad bit of spice and so flavorful!!! Crab rangoon was yummy too!! We shall be back!”

“This little jewel gave me a very nice dinner. The red curry and the cashew stir fry were completely amazing. Portions of entrees are perfect per person. The star of the night was the Shrimp soup, little spicy like I always like it. Thanks for the good taste and the food preparation.”

“Penthai Restaurant – December 9, 2025 We started our meal with the Chicken Satay served with peanut sauce — tender, flavorful, and a great start to the evening. For our main courses, we enjoyed a delicious spread of Penthai Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, Garlic Chicken, Ginger Salmon, and Crispy Tofu Pad See Ewe. Each dish was tasty and came in generous portions, perfect for sharing. As a small note for next time, we’d love the flavors to be just a bit less salty 🧂 — the dishes had great depth and could shine even more with a lighter touch on the seasoning. The ambience was pleasant and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and impressively quick. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience and a place we’d happily return to!”

“Amazing Thai restaurant! The food is bursting with flavors—Pad Kee Moa,pad thai, lots of great noodle and rice curry dishes. The green curry are must-tries. Service is friendly and attentive, creating a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend for a delicious and satisfying dining experience!”

“It's been so long since I've had Thai food. Thai food isn't something I crave often, but I love it every time I have it. Pen Thai delivers big on flavor and calm atmosphere. I tried their Papaya Salad, Pad Thai w/ chicken, Red curry all at spice level 3, Pad Kee-Mao w/ chicken (spice level 2 & 3 & 4), and green curry w/ tofu (spice level 2). I love spicy food and Thai spice REALLY brings the heat! It's so addictive and delicious, but honestly, I think I'll stick with level 2 from now on to give my tummy grace. Service is always quick and everything is always so tasty. The value of all the items is also affordable compared to other Thai places I've been to. Thankful for this small gem of a spot so close to home! Definitely felt the kick the dining area had a calm vibe, and the service was excellent. A great spot for delicious Thai food and a relaxing meal!”

“This is the best place for thai food in the area. Very spicy and authentic. Mom and pop shop with dishes that are bursting with flavor. The penthai fried rice was soooo good. Please check it out if you get a chance!”

“Super cozy place and the food had amazing flavor. The service was great and the vibe inside was chill. If you’re sensitive to spicy food, the medium spicy tier may be too spicy”

“We went for lunch and ordered the green curry and the yellow curry. Both tastes spicy and sweet of coconut milk. I chose medium spicy, but it’s quite spicy for me. The other one chose hot spicy and it was hard to finish it because it was too spicy. Taste was good and the price is reasonable, so I’d like to visit there again, but I recommend to choose less spicy..”
