“Food was good nothing extra extraordinary, given a 8/10, for very fair pricing. Customer service was very on point, Paul the owner made sure everything was good and was engaging in conversation. Make sure to get the Thai iced tea as well as sticky rice for desert. Would recommend coming for a bite. Sawadee.”

“This place was so good! We had the pad Thai with beef and it may’ve been the best I’ve ever had. Such a nice sweet little spot. Service was excellent too.”

“I had a great experience dining here! The staff was very friendly, the ambiance inside is very warm and the food was delicious. I appreciated that the halal certification was clearly indicated on the door.”

“I’ve always ordered in from Dao Thai, and it’s been consistently great every time. My usual go-to is the Mussaman Curry and the meal box with Thai Basil Fried Rice and Tofu. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and very consistent in quality. I also really appreciate the portion sizes—they’re generous and satisfying. Their spice levels are spot on too. If you love spicy food, this place really delivers—it can get seriously hot, in the best way depending on the level you pick. Overall, a reliable spot for Thai takeout that I keep going back to.”

“I go past this place every time I leave northwestern. Finally went in. I had the Thai iced coffee which was bitter, chicken satay, the chicken was dry, pad see ew, which was DELICIOUS! the beef was so tender it melts in your mouth. The crab Rangoon was good as well. They had one man doing all the work! He did an amazing job considering. He said his coworkers did not show up. I’d go here again but try something else.”

“El lugar se ve un poco anticuado. Las mesas centrales son como bancas a las que tienes que trepar. Los meseros son bastante amables. La comida esta bien, pero el pad sew un poco salado y la ensalada de pepino muy amarga. No fue mi favorito. Las porciones son bastante grandes.”

“Empty restaurants may signify something, you tell me. When people talk of Dao, they talk of the past: how good the food was, how it was pricey but worth it, etc. you won’t find that here. I ordered the pad Thai and teriyaki chicken for pickup. Firstly they told me after arriving 15 minutes after placing it, it would take 3 minutes. It took 15. I was sat near the bathroom which not only had a foul smell but a chemical one. The food, at least smell led good, but didn’t taste good. Teriyaki chicken was rubbery, dry, and tasteless. The pad Thai was just plain, despite the curry. What happened to this place?!”
“Curry excellent, fried rice excellent, pad Thai excellent. The best Thai restaurant in Chicago and Us. I have been in other’s restaurants and I’ve couldn’t find a Pad Thai like here. The best!!!!”
