“I was in Chicago for the weekend and wanted to experience a classic steakhouse with all the old Union Stockyards history and legends. Chicago Chop House absolutely delivered. Chicago definitely knows great steak! The menu has a huge selection of steaks, from wet-aged (lol) to dry-aged, with just about every cut you could want. We decided on the dry-aged filet and the prime rib. The filet had a fantastic crust and was cooked perfectly. The prime rib was very good, although I would have liked a bit more au jus. The leaner sections of the meat could have used the extra richness, but the fatty, crusty bites were absolutely delicious-portion was huge! What really made this place memorable, though, was the atmosphere. It felt intimate, sophisticated, and stylish-like I'd been invited into a private old-school Chicago club. The lighting was perfect, and the music was spot on: Frank, Dean, Ella, Nat, and Louis. The vintage photos, dark wood, ceiling fans, and beautiful light fixtures gave the whole place a classic feel. The service was excellent. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The bartender also made a fantastic Manhattan, served in the perfect old-school steakhouse crystal glass. Overall a top notch experience.”

“I had a wonderful experience at Chicago chop house. I sat in the lower level piano room which had that old school vibe with pictures of old Chicago on the walls along with the Chicago mayors wall and mobster corner all old classic pics. Upon entering I was greeted by the host and was given options to sit since it was a slower night. I had my pic and sat in a cozy corner. I was offered water and start to finish the service was excellent and timed perfect. I ordered the 8oz dry aged filet and Caesar salad. I didn’t even finish! Took it to go. It was a long travel day and I wanted to fall asleep it was really cozy. lol. I LOVED the music and vibe as well as service and food. I highly recommend you check it out. I almost forgot to take my pics so I already had some bites in the pic. That steak was bigger than it looked in the picture. I also ate some already.”

The food was exquisite, from the bread with butter to the dessert. One of the best steaks we’ve ever had — you can tell they prioritize high-quality meat and cook it perfectly to the exact doneness you request. The restaurant itself is very cozy, with a classic atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in an old movie, and everything was spotless. For me, it was the best restaurant I visited in Chicago.”
