Authentic Soulfood Kitchen: Pretty Damn Good Eats This spot, Authentic Soulfood Kitchen, brings a taste of the South right here to the South Side. The menu ain't huge, but it's got the classics: fried chicken, collard greens, mac and cheese, and that damn good cornbread. The food? Pretty solid. That chicken, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The sides, especially the greens and mac, hit the spot. But sometimes, things can be a little off. Maybe the chicken's a tad dry, or the flavor's not quite as deep as you'd expect from real Southern cooking. Even with those little hiccups, Authentic Soulfood Kitchen is a decent spot to scratch that soul food itch. The portions are generous, and you won't break the bank. It's good for a casual, no-frills meal.

I ordered Authentic Soul Food Kitchen to be delivered to my job and when I tell you it was a 1000/10 experience. Service was lovely, very simple and to the point. I ordered for 60 people and had PLENTY of food. Everything was hot, fresh, well seasoned. Everyone at my job enjoyed it and came back for seconds and thirds. Truly can’t wait to support again but in the meantime I will just stop by to get a plate! Support these people fr!

Some of the most tender chicken I have ever tasted. Compared to other chicken sandwiches this has a different and unique sauce/flavor profile. The toppings and bread/bun were all quality ingredients. Fries were also pretty decent. Sadly there is no dining inside. Overall I was satisfied with the food and its portion size. I would recommend the spot for a quick meal.

Louisiana Fried Tender Dinner and Double Mac are my go to but I must $ay there is no mistake with the items you try. Disappointed in myself for just find out about them but glad I finally found them!

“HANDS DOWN PHENOMENAL!!”

HANDS DOWN PHENOMENAL!!! Visited Chicago, was craving some southern cookin and they did NOT disappoint!! The chicken was so juicy, didn’t even need sauce. Red beans and rice, sweet potatoes and Mac n cheese were off the chain. The staff in the restaurant was so sweet and I would 10/10 recommend.

The fish is really good, cooked right, and not falling apart. The people in the phone wasn’t rude and answered all my questions. The macaroni and spaghetti was not good to me. The spaghetti noodles were harder than I’d like, the macaroni had no flavor. Thought it was going to be baked but look stove top. The place looks clean and they aren’t extremely expensive. It’s a overall 3 for me
