Madison Crab House
Madison Crab House stands out for generous seafood boils featuring king or snow crab, shrimp, crawfish, and especially the crowd-favorite Mad Sauce, plus strong picks like the oyster po’boy, clam chowder, lobster roll, dumplings, and potstickers. Regulars praise fresh seafood, friendly service, affordable shareable combos, and a relaxed atmosphere, though appetizer waits can run 15–20 minutes, availability may be inconsistent, and some guests report uneven crab quality and an automatic 15% gratuity.

“Happy I came into this restaurant, This is my first time visiting Illinois. I arrived during happy hour, this spot was a glowing gem. I was greeted and seated quickly, the ambiance in the building was pleasant and calming the music was fitting and relaxing! I ordered multiple items, really was on a budget but the taste of the food I originally ordered was too good to not leave without getting the meal I was craving for a few days I ordered crab fried rice, pomegrate cocktail, peach lychee tea (non alcohol), I also ordered an happy hour boil! The food was amazing, full of flavor and cooked well done! I received a cute bib that read im too cute to be crabby which lit up my day! Would highly recommend!”

“This restaurant looks very similar to my favorite Boiling Crab. We got king crab legs, snow crab legs, lobster tail, and crawfish. They are all pretty fresh and flavory. Service is also good, they made a dessert as a birthday gift even though they don't have dessert on their menu. Only drawback is slow speed. We wait 15-20min for apetizer. With all of that, I don't understand why there are so few guests in a Friday evening.”

“Alex was the only gal working tables & bar on a Thursday. She was perfect. Thank you Alex”

“Lobster was delicious !! Oysters too! They cooked the lobster just right not to chewy not hard no they cooked it perfect and it was so juicy with flavor and the French fries well they tasted like any other fries but overall the food and drinks were good I had gotten a pomegranate margarita”

“Preferably my go-to for a seafood boil restaurant. My family & I love this place; we drive 60+ miles to eat here. Fresh appetizers and food. Customer service & the atmosphere is also great.”

“Got the combo A with the shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab. On the pricy side in my opinion $167 for 2 people (automatically added 15% tip) Food was cooked perfectly. However the mad sauce lacked in flavor, it was a bit bland compared to other seafood boil restaurants. Service was nice and fast but we were the only people on a Monday night.”
“Everything was fresh good and the seasoning was just right”
“If you have a chance, would highly recommend this spot! Lovely staff, the mad sauce had amazing flavor, fantastic. Will be back! Waiter also ran a block to gave me back something I left behind!”
