“Intimate dining space, high quality food, great cocktails, friendly service. The kare raisu with chicken karaage was a standout dish for us.”

“We came here a year ago and came back again from Minnesota! We absolutely LOVE Ryota! ❤️😭 Food is just made with such HIGH QUALITY and care! Gourmet style! And services are absolutely AMAZING TOO! We will DEFINITELY be back AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!! 🥹🥹🥹”

“This is a super delicious spot that's absolutely worth visiting. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but its cozy atmosphere only adds to the charm and makes the experience feel more inviting. The food was amazing, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care. The service was just as impressive, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Between the outstanding food and excellent hospitality, this place is well worth checking out. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.”

“The Japanese curry was very good and generously portioned. All of the food was delicious, and the service was attentive.”

“Got takeout from working around the corner and it was one of the best rolls I’ve ever had. The ingredients they used tasted so fresh and were just bursting with flavor! The employees were very attentive and nice also, would love to eat here again!”

“Quality, bit pricey udon. They do a great job with the tempura though. Light, crisp and holds up well with a light dip in the broth”

“Ryota js absolutely fantastic. The service, the food, the really blue light in the bathroom. 🤩🤣 The food: Tempura and fresh raw oysters: simply amazing. Eat the raw one first. You will think the second one can’t be better, but you will be wrong. The depth in the layers of flavors is magnificent. The bad news is I believe these are seasonal. The miso soup with tofu and some kind of root was pretty good. For me miso soup is miso soup. The Japanese chicken curry rice! Chef’s kiss! That curry was not too spicy and so flavorful. The chicken was perfectly crispy. I wanted to eat more of this dish but I was so full. I highly recommend this place. I can’t wait to return!”

“There are plenty of sushi restaurants in Chicago but this one in the west loop stands out. Their sushi is fresh and delicious. The ramen is light and full of flavors. The shrimp tempura and calamari was crispy, light and airy. The Ryota premium set had a perfect combo of Uni, Otoro and Ikura. I am not fond of Ikura however the one's here was so fresh and rich I was surprised that I enjoyed every bite. Our sever Cole provided our party with excellent service. Highly recommend you give place a visit.”

“Second visit here and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. The Uni remains top-tier, but the surprise of the day was the Katsu Curry. The sauce has a deep, complex flavor that’s hard to find elsewhere. Perfectly crispy katsu with a rich, velvety curry—highly recommended if you're looking for comfort food with a premium touch”
