Omakase Shoji & Izakaya — among the best japanese in West Town. This is where you bring someone you're trying to impress. The bar is worth the visit on its own. "The fish was fresh and delicious, and that may be one of the best old fashioned I've ever had" — A J

“Excellent Omakase experience. The order that each dish came out was perfect. The staff was extremely polite and accommodating. My wife does not like wasabi so they omitted from her pieces. There was definitely enough food to make sure you leave satisfied and not hungry.”

“Was taken there late Birthday /early Mother's day for dinner..Awesome experience food was great..Seasonal Kaiseki 20 count..”

“Super fresh and well made fish, service and atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend!”

“Incredible new Omakase spot in West Town. The interior is super sleek and upscale and all of the food is so fresh! Great spot to celebrate any occasion or just for a great food experience. Looking forward to my next time already! Edit: Came back for a second time and had such a great experience. The staff is great and service is fast. Loved all the food we got - especially the crispy rice spicy tuna! We even got to meet Chef Shoji himself.”

“Went for restaurant week and it was excellent!! Can't wait to go back to sit at the bar, chat with the awesome bartender and have a great meal”

“We came for restaurant week and while the food was very good, the restaurant week menu was not really a good deal I don’t think. If you’d like to check out this restaurant, you should do so, but don’t come in for restaurant week thinking you’ll get a good deal. We had to order some additional food on top of the menu as we were still hungry. The food is very high quality but portion sizes could be a bit larger at the price point they’re charging. As seen in the photo, we received a 6 piece nigiri but this is not enough food to really get full. Would recommend checking out, not sure if I’ll be back though.”

“went for the omakase and enjoyed absolutely every second of it. everything was fresh, delicious, and so flavorful.”

“I came here for my friend's birthday for the Omakase and it was absolutely spectacular! We were visiting from NYC so we've all had a fair share of good omakase. However, Omakase Shoji blew all of our expectations! We got to meet Chef Shoji himself who is incredible knowledgable about the different cuts of fish and the art of sushi and overall made our experience extremely fun. The cuts were very generous and we loved how this was a traditional Japanese experience. We loved the restaurant so much that we came later in the week during our trip for the Izakaya bar food (has a different offering for a more affordable price) and the food there was also delicious. This restaurant will be my go-to recommendation in Chicago!”

“First omakase excellent experience by Shoji great food great service with worth price”

“A beautifully designed sushi, omakase, and cocktail lounge nestled in West Town that has some of the best fish in town. Also the drinks are absolutely top notch. Definitely a place to go with a loved one or friends for a great night out. I had one of the sushi sets and there was not a single piece on the platter that was less than amazing. I can't wait to go back.”

“The best sushi I've had in Chicago. I had the Omakase and the food as well as the service was stellar. The chefs were absolutely fantastic and very accommodating as well. They were extremely friendly and added to the experience. The sushi was fantastic, and the presentation was superb. I would highly recommend it, and I would definitely go back next time I'm in town.”
