Noriko Handroll Bar
Noriko Handroll Bar — the Rolls leads at this top-tier Fulton Market japanese spot. The room is built for conversation, not crowds. Solid drinks, with the bar pulling its weight, and works for larger parties. Maggie Delaney: "The fish was surrounded by this delicious savory jelly and we quite literally cleaned that plate"

“A unique dining experience. The food was excellent. Pacing was perfect and helped us enjoy a dinner out without rushing.”

“Noriko Handroll Bar is unreal. Everything tastes super fresh and simple in the best way. Every bite is dialed in and clean. I’d go back immediately. Oink Oink No notes, just perfect handrolls. Highly recommend for everyone in town! - Oink Oink”

“A+ experience all around! Handrolls are the highest quality you can get in Chicago with bursting flavor to match. The one item recommended to us before going was the oyster, which we came to find are award winning, and deservedly so. We met Rhan and Mikey while there - thanks to you guys and to the team for a fun and delectable night out celebrating our anniversary!”

“Top Handroll bar in the city. Drinks upstairs at Perila are amazing as well”

“It’s hard to find fresh, high-quality sushi at a reasonable price in the city, but Noriko Handroll Bar definitely met all those criteria. The vibe was also lively and modern. I highly recommend here to anyone looking for high-quality, unique hand rolls. Will def come back to try other premium rolls!”

“This was so incredibly delicious! We did the chef’s handroll set and the doshi doshi and honestly would replicate this order any time we visit again. Everything was perfect! (The cocktails were also incredible, but the food is obviously the star of the show here) sorry for the blurry photo but wow just wow”

“After more than a year of experiencing their delicious food and fantastic service, I so appreciate that they are always keeping their offerings new and exciting!”

“If you want a sceney spot…but not a pretentious sushi experience, this is it! Really loved their handrolls + special s/o to the edamame hummus and nori chips.”

“An intimate basement handroll sushi with decent flavors - we tried the Chef’s Set ($43 for 5 pieces), and the real-crab California roll was surprisingly memorable with a lovely peppery kick. The bluefin toro was rich and buttery, and the Tuna Poke had a satisfying crunch. We also added a Sweet Shrimp, which was yum with a hint of plum spice. Other rolls were less memorable - the Scallop Dynamite felt over seasoned, while the Ika Aburi also tasted very busy in its flavor. Since the meal is eaten mostly by hand, hand towels at the start would have been a nice touch. Overall, a unique and quality handroll experience, though the price feels a bit high for the level of flavor and innovation.”

“If you love fresh, high quality sushi, you’re going to absolutely fall in love with Noriko. As a restaurant enthusiast, it’s quite hard to find a place with good food and good drinks, but Noriko has both! I had a lychee martini and my friend had the Tokyo Story. Drinks are strong, smooth and very unique. We had the nori chips and dip as an appetizer, which was to die for! As for food, my friend and I tried the tuna poke, scallop dynamite, baked crab roll, and the sweet shrimp roll. Every single one was phenomenal. The flavors don’t overpower the fish, but perfectly complement it. Also, the vibes/atmosphere are super chill for the start of girls night or a date night. Plus service is great, and the chefs are super kind and hospitable. I couldn’t recommend it enough!”
