“Friendly and gentle service in a clean and nice place. The food is very good an ao close to original taste in Mexico. Plenty of options in the menu.”

“Family has been coming here for years. One if not the best mexican restaurant in aurora.”

“Sin duda alguna la mejor birria la recomiendo al 100% no se van a arrepentir me sentí como en mi Jalisco la señora me trató muy bien me sentí como en casa tengo que volver pronto 🤤😋”

“We ordered the Enchiladas (carne molida / ground meat) which were good but the ground meat tasted a bit plain. The special enchilada sauce was good and the cheese did not taste cheap. Birria was good. Steak tacos were good. The rice gets a thumbs up and the refried beans I thought were tasty. The salsa and tortillas were also great. Horchata, which is a little bit different everywhere you go, I thought was wonderful here. Staff was friendly and the place had a great vibe.”

“It's 100 percent authentic Mexican. Hands down. Food is delicious, and their Magarittas are not too sweet, just how I like them.”

“I grew up eating at Tecalitlan for over 30 years when they were located in West Town before they moved to this location. They used to be known for there famous giant burritos and top notch margaritas. Oh how they are just simple and sloppy now a days. Although I go a few times a year is only for the margaritas. No more giant size burritos. Their carne asada has gotten so different that you can't even taste the meat due to the excessive grease and how they cut up the steak. Yes literally chopped so small and over cooked. The burrito used to be packed with love everything was portion inside where every bite you got to taste all the ingredients. Now it just looks good to the eyes! The vibes have disappeared and the prices have shot up. If they lowered the prices in sure more people would fill up this giant spacious location. It's so sad to see awesome restaurants focus more on the money than keeping the customers. I know a business needs to run but robbing pockets for crappy food and arrogant services is not the way to do it. I'm thinking their best time is probably during a lunch or happy hour rush to get the specials. But that's how restaurants flow where they lose what really matters when greed to fill the pockets comes first. Don't expect free nachos when you come in, didn't expect top notch attention from your waitstaff and didn't expect quality food in your plate. Dont get me wrong its not horrible but it's definitely not great. Stick with the margaritas it's the only thing you'll probably come back for and with their prices they should be generous in their house tequila. What used to be nostalgia is now just another Chicago Mexican restaurant. Expect to pay a high price before walking out. You may consider googling another Mexican restaurant where your going to get a bang for your buck! Ps don't order their Tequila old fashion the presence of the smoke is the only good thing we had to send ours back twice because it's tasted like brown water down tequila. Go during happy hour because margaritas are 10.00 oppose to 22.00. One more thing they will validate your parking ticket up to 2 hours anything after will be garage cost of 14.00 so if your their to celebrate or hang out you'll know you will not be paying the 2.00 exit.”
