Tacos El Tio — a mexican spot in Devon Avenue. The kitchen takes tradition seriously. Open late. "The burrito was easily the best I've ever had as well as the beans and rice sides" — Steven rotter

“My boyfriend loved steak torta and I thought the quesadillas should have been grilled more and the cheese melted but they were still filled and tasty”
We arrived and ordered drinks, and only one meal was ordered. The waitress brought the meal but never brought the drinks.
Food tastes good but they never get take out orders correct. Always missing out have the wrong items.
I've visited Tacos El Tio several times, always looking forward to a satisfying meal.

“Had to try this place out on the recommendation from my cousin while I was in town.”
Had to try this place out on the recommendation from my cousin while I was in town. This is what I would call authentic Mexican food and it did not disappoint. The tacos were delicious and all the meats were moist and plentiful. Talk about value, the portion sizes were also huge! I see why the locals love this place.

“Al pastor is juicy and flavorful, asada is great as well.”
Al pastor is juicy and flavorful, asada is great as well. The handmade quesadillas, giant tacos and gorditas are to die for. The flour tortilla quesadillas are massive. Beware salsas are a tad spicier than your average taqueria. Food is always fresh and they’re open 24 hours. The restaurant is decorated so colorful and fun! The wait staff are the SWEETEST too. They go above and beyond with service. A perfect establishment, can’t fault anything at all.

“If you like pastor tacos from the "trompo" come here.”
If you like pastor tacos from the "trompo" come here! Everything was delicious. We tried the Arrachera, torta de milanesa, pastor tacos, and carnitas tacos. Service was friendly and prompt. They also offer aguas frescas I will definitely come back soon.

“I ate at the Belmont location last night and greatly enjoyed it.”
I ate at the Belmont location last night and greatly enjoyed it. Didn’t know this second location existed. Huevos a la Mexicana. It’s was delicious. I’m trying to figure out why I enjoy this meal so much and I think I figured it out. I think they make the food here with love. My dad was a great cook. But if he ever cooked angry, you could taste it in his food. He would always cook with love, and it was noticeable. I think this place is cooking with love. The ladies that work here are lovely beings that have immense pride in their restaurant. I’m making this place my default breakfast spot. Once I burn out on the huevos a la mexicana, I’ll try something else.

“We found this place on our route to a store.”
We found this place on our route to a store. We check it out and we were pleased with the food and service here. To add a + it’s a 24 hrs service. A place to stop after hour if needed. (We use this service when arrived from a trip at 2am) Highly recommend! 100% 👍🏼👍🏼

“This place looks new and fresh.”
This place looks new and fresh. I love the color they chose to paint it. The blue is light enough but very vibrant and goes well with all of the decor and mural that I'd painted on the wall in the dining area. My boyfriend loved steak torta and I thought the quesadillas should have been grilled more and the cheese melted but they were still filled and tasty. The guacamole was flavorful with maybe too many onions, but look at the pictures. The price of all we ordered was about $50 and that's actually not bad considering we didn't know the sizes of the foods we ordered and decided we could even order less or share stuff next time. Great place to go!

Probably the best tacos in the area! Al Pastor Tacos are so good! The boss was nice with us even made sure everything was alright and the female waiter took care of us really good! Came with the family & we got the Tuesday Special: 5 Al Pastor Tacos for $12.99. Definitely worth it!

“Grew up in Florida so my expectations for Hispanic food are rather high.”
Grew up in Florida so my expectations for Hispanic food are rather high. Burrito was nice and crispy, al pastor was juicy and flavorful. Rice was well seasoned and complimented the beans. Mango aguas frescas was incredible. I got a large and secretly wish they offered a super size like McDonald’s back in the day. I’ll have to run it back before I leave Chicago. Very good meal.

“The service was great and the restaurant was very clean.”
The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. The food was fine as well but the meat was a little tough and lacking in flavor. The prices were also a bit too high for the quality. Still worth a try and I appreciate how late they stay open!
