This place used to be cuetzuela which was amazing. Big shoes to fill.
I hate giving bad reviews but this place shocked me and not in a good way.
I thought I was going get a regular sope; it was over priced and under served, there was hardly nothing in this sope, I want my money back (close to $6).

Easily the best and most authentic tacos in the city. Chef Alfonso’s food is made with love—especially the quesabirria and the special Akay taco. Finish it off with the coffee flan!

“I love coming here.”
I love coming here! It's a great space to come for a solo date as well as a group outing. I love that the dine-in drinks come in a glass jar and the horchata is so delicious and creamy. I was able to try a new kind of taco meat here when I came for the Taco Tuesday deal. I also got a torta to go and it was great even the next day. I will be returning here over and over and hope to bring others as well in the future.

This place is EXCELLENT. I was in the area and wanted Tacos, so I googled, "Best tacos near me now " and Akay Tacos was the First choice...and they were right. The place was immaculate, the service and people were efficient and soooo nice. I had 2 steak TACOS...THEY WERE FYYYYYEEE! Seasoned, flavorful, and filling. I love a great SALSA too, they have a roasted house salsa..it was so good, I brought some home, the Red and Green sauces were equally delicious too. I live in the south suburbs..but I would truly go to this restaurant again, They have a good menu..give them a try.

Came across this place on a whim and so glad I did! Chips and salsa brought to the table and the salsa was great. Ordered the taco dinner (carne asada, al pastor and barbacoa) and it came with rice and beans. Ate the first taco and thought, wow this is delicious! Then ate the next one, wow this is fantastic and then the 3rd was amazing! Rice and beans had so much flavor and salsa verde and rojo were equally tasty. Probably the best tacos I’ve had in the city, will be back again! A must try (& appears family owned!!) 😊🌮
