Solazo — neighborhood mexican in Brighton Park. The look is curated without feeling cold. Worth ordering a drink, because the bar holds its own. "It's hard to pick one dish that stands out because all of the food was delicious and fresh" — Judith GotYou OnCamera

“Our server was excellent with options and service”
Well I'm rating this place 2 stars this is my honest opinion.
First and last time in this place.

“It was our first time here and we really enjoyed it.”
It was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. We went for breakfast and since there were very few customers, we took our time to enjoy our food and coffee without feeling rushed. They don't offer free chips and salsa like other restaurants, but we didn't mind. We ordered the Steak Skillet, which was delicious and came with around 8 small flavorful home made tortillas, and the Desayuno Solazo that was big enough that it kept me full until dinner time!!! The service was excellent. Liz A. was our server and she was very nice and attentive. The prices were reasonable too. Great music selection for the background (oldies/classic in Spanish). The establishment was very clean too.

“Just had the most delicious meal.”
Just had the most delicious meal! Two tacos - Pollo & Carnitas were delicious as usual. Carne de jugo - an amazing broth with steak, avocado, bacon, beans and more - served with hot and fresh tortillas. Pleasantly spicy and satisfying. Excellent service and great music playing in the background, made the night complete.

This is a very cool & hip looking high end taqueria, but the portions are akin to Big Star but the flavors are all there. Also, the presentation is very eclectic, like those in the River North area, but this is located near Midway, in the West Lawn neighborhood. Their happy hour is weekdays at 4-6p; that’s where I ordered their tacos dorados, similar to a flauta, but is made of corn tortillas thats fried and crunchy. The chicken tinga served on a bed of lettuce with queso and beans and other ingredients was a treat. The crunchy taco was excellent and complimented each other from texture to acidity. Also ordered single tacos of shrimp (camarón) and battered cod (baja) was flavorful and refreshing with the crisp cabbage and aioli. I definitely will go there again just for these tacos, which I believe are priced fairly, though a bit small, but full of flavor. The bar staff was super friendly and accommodating. I’m sure this is packed close to the weekend, but this Tuesday was my only availability.

First time here. I'll b back. I had the chilaquiles w carne asada n the meat had a great char to it. This is not tradtional flavors. There a level above! The only word i can think if is - complexflavirs. The guacamole was a treat. Spicey w a hint of sweetness from the pomagranite seeds. Trendy music was nice. Out server lisa was great

I have been waiting to try this place for a while and glad I did. The drinks and food were good, I would definitely come again. It’s a small location on the corner of Pulaski & 56th. Parking ok the side street or the main road Pulaski.

“Really nice happy hour food, great vibes.”
Really nice happy hour food, great vibes! For happy hour, I enjoyed the mezcal margarita, which was nicely balanced and smoky. I also got the taco Campechano and the Baja taco - both tacos were super flavorful and, though prices were higher than other nearby taquerias, the portions were generous! Service was kind, attentive, and speedy. And being able to sit in the patio was a nice touch!

“Third time going here and I love it.”
Third time going here and I love it! Seriously the steak is better than any steak house I’ve ever been to in Chicago! This place is rich in flavors. I’ve had lunch and dinner here and it’s always been perfect. Please bring back the rib eye taco🤩! Have to mention the drinks are amazing here as well. I always order a Paloma and my Wife always get a margarita. Big Thankyou to the whole staff! El Solazo staff is 10/10.

“Great restaurant.”
Great restaurant! Solazo definitely feels high-end and a far cry from the chain restaurants and small dives that dominate Pulaski. The atmosphere feels like you are eating at a West Loop restaurant, while the food still feels very authentic. Food and drinks are very flavorful and delicious. Servers are attentive and kind. Prices are higher than typical for the area, but feel well worth it for the quality of the food. We can for a birthday and the staff even surprised us with an ice cream drink and a shot, which was very thoughtful. I would definitely come back here again to try more of the menu.

I've been a loyal customer of El Solazo since 2007, so when they reopened in 2021 with a new cocktail menu and refreshed food offerings, I had to give it a try. I truly enjoy the modernization; it means I no longer have to travel to the West Loop or River North for the same vibrant atmosphere and exquisite flavors. I've sampled every single food item and cocktail on the menu. My husband and I love going there so much that Leslie, one of the servers, now recognizes us and knows our favorite shots. Having Leslie as our server always enhances our experience. She’s incredibly sweet, always has a smile, and provides the best recommendations. While the whole staff is kind and attentive, Leslie's impeccable service deserves a special mention. She made my birthday brunch unforgettable by bringing out a special birthday shot and dessert. All my friends were impressed with the food and drinks. Leslie also recommended we try the happy hour. So, what did I do? I called off work so my husband and I could enjoy the happy hour flight she suggested. El Solazo is definitely one of our favorite spots for great food and drinks. We tend to indulge and happily spend our money because we love it there so much. If your experience wasn't up to your standards, that’s okay—it was your experience. But for my husband and me, El Solazo is top tier.
