Maybe the tortilla wasn't cooked all the way but it was so thick I could only taste tortilla I expected seasoning or savory favor but there wasn't any on my shrimp beef tongue and barely any on the chorizo.

“The food here was so delicious.”

The food here was so delicious. I have not been this happy in a while with Mexican food in my area. Los Altos is amazing. We ordered an order of the quezabirrias with the consome. So delicious. The meat, the stew, just fantastic! My sister and i each had an order of Chilaquiles. One order of green and one red. Both were super delicious. The red ones were actually a bit spicy and have a taste of chipotle peppers which was exactly what i was craving. The green ones were super tasty as well. The tamal we tried was really good too with the ranchero sauce topping. We took a torta de milanesa to go and some fries. My husband really enjoyed it. The milanesa was juicy and tasty. And all the sauces at the restaurant were really good as well. I am very happy to finally have a good restaurant in the Waukegan area. I will definitely be telling all my friends and people i know about this restaurant. UPDATE Went back recently a few weeks ago for the red chilaquiles, BOMB. They are still super delicious. Anyone looking for good chilaquiles, best in waukegan area for sure.The chips are fresh and they will get soggy if you're trying to get home so i recommend dine in. I added some avocado and chorizo to my order.

SO DELICIOUS! Service was amazing. My husband got the birria tacos and they were so good! The meat was so tender and so flavorful. I got the green enchiladas, I loved that they were a little spicy and seasoned to perfection. The horchata was also delicious. Will be coming back!

The place is relatively well taken care of, it's pretty clean, the aesthetic of the place is perfection, Agua de horchata tastes authentic, I can feel the rice and the cinnamon, it's not too sweet or too plain, it's sort of thick which is perfect, the fries are crispy, not greasy at all, beautiful presentation of fries and torta, the food was delicious, the meat was not dry at all, I usually have complains whenever it comes to food and I'm brutally honest, this time I don't, carne al pastor was perfect, perfect amount of cream and lettuce, good large portions for the money, If i ever come to Chicago again, I'll eat here once again, Friendly service, even offered to take pictures for us, very peaceful place, I would definitely recommend.

This place is really good! The guacamole and their pico de gallo is AMAZING! I had the quesabirria tacos which were so good and had so much flavor! I will be returning. Everything was fresh, made to order and quick. Customer service was also a 10!

Los Altos is a authentic Mexican restaurant in North Chicago. Extremely clean restaurant great prices and amazing staff. My Quiso Birria tacos were amazing. The broth was on point they even served with fresh lime, onions and cilantro if you were in the mood for awesome Mexican food look no further.
