La Vaca Margarita Bar
La Vaca Margarita Bar stands out for lomo and asada tacos, steak cheese fries, salsa, and passion fruit margaritas, with friendly owner Jimmy often making guests feel especially welcome. The Pilsen spot offers outdoor dining, Latin music, dancing, and a lively group atmosphere, though it can get packed, service is inconsistent, margarita quality varies, and checks are limited to two credit cards.

“I had the best experience via the waitress and Jimmy the owner really hooked us up. Thank you Jimmy I really appreciate it.”

“Excellent margaritas. Salsa and chips very good. The steak fries are a must have”

“Absolutely delicious. Jimmy recommended the lomo tacos, and fish. We ordered steak and fries for the app. Jimmy definitely made this experience unforgettable.”

“For a place with Margarita in the name, they have the worst margaritas in town. The asada tacos were good. Avoid this place if you can; and go to other places around.”

“Have not been here in some years but decided to patronize the business with my friend because we remembered they had good vegan tacos and confirmed via their online menu. The online menu does not reflect the menu in the restaurant. My order was wrong and the waitress (Maria D) seemed more concerned with lolligagging behind the bar as if they were crowded. I asked for an extra shell and never got it even after being asked twice if I still wanted it. My friend asked for a passion fruit margarita because it was margarita Monday according to the menu and were told they were out of something prohibited them from making her drink. Looks like it’ll be a few more years again before I come back.”
“Very nice restaurant we dined outside our server was nice and the food was delicious.”
“The tacos are delicious! The passion fruit margarita is yummy. A bit pricey, but good food makes up for it. (They will not allow groups to split the check and will only run 2 credit cards at max. Since we didn’t know that until we were already there it made it a little more difficult at checkout, but not a deal breaker.). They do allow parking out front in the winter, so that’s nice. And it’s right around the corner from the place we did a pottery class, so it was a fun evening!”
“Came out for drinks and dancing with a group. The bartender was not very welcoming, she didn't even greet us or anything when we went up to order. She might have said one word to us the whole night, maybe she had a bad day but rubbed us the wrong way. Drinks were decent and not overly expensive. Dance floor space is a little small and restricted since there was tables all around. Music was a good mixture of latino and a few hip hop/rap songs. Overall nice time despite the rude bartender.”
“To be honest I thought it was just because it was busy, but I’ve been when it’s dead (me and 3 other customers) and busy on a full night this bartender Susi is incredibly unprofessional. Makes us seem unwelcomed and just rude honestly. I would HATE to see her behind the bar when I attend this bar again. I do love the atmosphere, drinks, food and ambience, but honestly if I see susi behind the bar I won’t be going in the establishment for sure.”
