“I wish I could give this place 10 stars! I’ve never felt so welcome in a restaurant before. From the moment I walked in people were smiling, hugging, and sharing food and conversation. We started with roasted garlic and bread, and it was fantastic. The garlic was perfectly smooth and the bread was so fluffy. We shared a 10’ pizza as a started and it was super cheesy, the crust was crispy but not too thin, it was great to share or would have made a great entree. Somehow the dinner salad was drenched in dressing and still crunchy (chef’s kiss). I ordered meatballs and lasagna. Let me tell you I’ve never had a lasagna that was so stuffed with meat and cheese in my life! It was amazing! I ate it for 2 and a half days. My friend got the chicken marsala. It was so good that we ordered another to take back to Arkansas with us. The tiramisu was the perfect dessert to end the night. The lady fingers were soaked in what had to be the finest of coffee, and it filling was so creamy and dense but light at the same time! The owner (Pop Pop as I like to call him) is the sweetest man on earth! I will think about this meal for a very long time and I can’t wait to return. When you’re there you’re family”

“I love this place. My sisters/niece has been enjoying this place for you years. I decided to enjoy it with them thanks to my sister picking me up from the south suburbs. The food is on point; traditional family style Italian food that's seriously delicious. My next trip here I will try the pizza. All the reviews are on top. Please make your way here as soon as you can if you want some awesome Italian food!. The owner Roger, is a godsend. He constantly checks on you, and make sure everything is going great. He knows my family by name. I'm just going to add pictures of my food. I had the chicken marsala which was totally delicious. There was plenty of chicken. The wine sauce was so delicious that I started to lick the plate 😉. Just make your next visit here. You will totally enjoy the atmosphere and the food.”

“What a great place to go to for a special meal! The veal scalopini was great, and feeling of eating at an Italian house was special. They everybody gave us free cherries and whipped cream with the bill.”

“My husband and I had our small wedding here last September and it was the most amazing experience. The owners were so cool, my parents went there a handful of sundays before the wedding because they loved it so much. 5 star service, amazing waiters and bartenders. They even helped my dad loads things from the wedding into the car after we were done. You don’t get that kind of over the top old school service anymore and it made our day even more special!! This place is professional at what they do. Our guests are still talking about the amazing food and it’s been months! THANK YOU!!”

“I didn’t get a picture of the calamari but it’s definitely a must!! Soo good!! Everything was great but the service and atmosphere was the best! Definitely recommended!”

“Fire! Awesome hidden gem! Great food, service and atmosphere. Family owned restaurant with the owners hands on making sure everything and everyone is taken care of.! Found this place online when looking for a restaurant close to UIC campus to celebrate a graduation. After looking at many places this seemed like one of the best options. Truly didn’t disappoint. From authentic Italian dishes to the seafood and mmm the steaks..! Good selection of drinks to wash it ALL down, lol. Thanks to Joan the owner and Mauricio our server for making my family feel at home. Suggest you valet park as parking is limited. Maybe make reservations. Looks like they have a party room for rent. 5 STARS ALL DAY…!”

“I found this place online today and had to have a girls dinner here immediately. I felt like I was at somebody Italian grandma house. Every worker was friendly, sweet and kind. We had the veal parmigian with alfredo and lemon chicken (I forgot the actual name). The food was delicious though and the portions were huge. Also, the server gave us chocolate covered cherries that she made, as a complimentary treat, and they were real good. I will definitely be back here Update: 4 years later I finally came back and I need to be coming here more often, its definitely one of my favorite pasta spots in the city. This time I got the vodka rigatoni with chicken parmigiana and some chocolate cake to end the night with. Everything was absolutely perfect.”

“This is one of those low-key neighborhood Italian spots that you’d drive past a hundred times and never realize you’ve been missing out on something special. No giant flashy sign. No valet. No hype train on social media. Just a quiet little place sitting there like, “Yeah… we’ve been cooking fire this whole time.” From the moment we walked in, the vibe was comfortable and welcoming. Not rushed. Not stuffy. Just good energy. We ordered a few appetizers and I immediately noticed something rare… they all came out together. Not one plate now, one plate ten minutes later, and one mysteriously forgotten. All at once. Hot. Fresh. Beautiful. That alone deserves a slow clap. Then the entrées showed up the same way. Everything clearly cooked to order. Nothing tasted microwaved, rushed, or slapped together. Every dish we tried was genuinely delicious. The kind of food where you pause mid-bite and nod your head like, “Yeah… they know what they’re doing back there.” The staff deserves major credit too. Friendly, attentive, and actually seemed to care if we were enjoying ourselves. Drinks stayed filled. Plates cleared. Smiles the whole time. Zero attitude. Zero weirdness. Honestly, I don’t have a single complaint. And that almost never happens. If you’re into good Italian food, warm service, and hidden-gem type places, do yourself a favor and check this spot out. I’d recommend it 10 out of 10 times and will absolutely be coming back. Hidden gem unlocked. 🍝 Hopefully this helps someone 🙏”

“Doesn't get much better. Food, service and atmosphere, chef's kiss 💋”

“Such a wonderful place! The food was delicious and the owners were lovely. Great waitstaff - even on Valentine’s Day which was so busy, the food was timely and we were well taken care of. Highly recommend and I will come here everytime I come to Chicago! Best lasagna I ever had.”
