Wow! Best Mexican place on Clark in Rogers Park. The family is so warm— great service and very welcoming. You can tell they are proud of their recipes, and they have every reason to be. Salsas on point, the guisado de puerco was excellent, and Kevin suggested the quesadilla de chicharron, which I loved, made with a huge homemade tortilla. We will make this our regular spot. Thank you Carlotta and Kevin!

Un pedacito de México en cada bocado 🇲🇽 La Casa Vieja es uno de esos lugares que te hacen sentir como en casa desde el primer momento. La comida es deliciosa y auténtica — los tacos son increíbles, especialmente los de carne asada, y los burritos están llenos de sabor. Todo se nota que es casero y hecho con cariño pero lo mejor de todo son sus pollos asados, 100% recomendados. El ambiente es muy cálido, el servicio súper amable y los precios bastante accesibles. Si buscas comida mexicana de verdad, sin pretensiones y con mucho sabor, este es el lugar. ¡100% recomendado!

The food is very good. I’ve been here many times now. I’ve had the mole (her grandmother makes it herself!) quesadilla with Nopales, guacamole and gorditas and everything was very good.

The food is amazing, I can tell they put their soul in it. I did, however, only try tacos de Asada and tortada de Asada so anything else on the menu I’m unsure of. I do wish they had a public restroom but other than that the service is great and so is the food.

La comida está súper rica y el servicio es muy amable! Probamos los chilaquiles, bistek encebollado, y un taco de nopal. Los sábados también están abiertos hasta las 8pm (google dice 6pm). Definitivamente volveremos por un pollo a la parrilla!

Yea yea. My first time coming here was last week. And when I tell you, I was telling everyone who would listen about this place, lol. There was a young man and a woman working in the kitchen, and they were extremely nice. The woman gave my son a free juice because it was extremely hot outside. The gentleman helped me with the menu and help recommend things for us to try since it was our first time. And when I tell you, the food was everything. It was everything. But today, however, there was a young woman working in the front and she was extremely offputting. I asked if the mom was there so i can tell her how good the food was. She said yes. I asked if she could get her and she never moved. Hardly even smiled. Very nasty energy. I feel very strongly about spending my money somewhere with good energy because I’m eating that energy that you’re putting into my food. I sat at the counter for a moment, counted out the money AND change and literally put it back in my purse and said I will try again another day. She was not welcoming. At all. I praised her on how good her husband was and for some reason that just seemed to make her angry. So if that’s the case, I’ll only come when the husband is there with the woman cook. That’s the only way i will be spending my money there.

However I tried their stake and they can do a-lot better the mean was chew i had two separate dishes with steak and both were chew .. please get better quality meat 🥩. The pic show only one dish the meat was one 3rd of my food i didnt even try the rest all chew like gum ..
