“You don’t want to miss this restaurant.”
You don’t want to miss this restaurant. It was one of the best I have tried. The tamale with red mole was life changing and the french toast was actually the best I have ever had. We loved that you get chips and beans for the table. I loved the cantarito as well. The staff were all extremely nice.

Kie Gol Lanee has been consistently outstanding across both brunch and dinner visits, with super comforting Oaxacan cooking paired with warm hospitality. At brunch, the house chips with beans were so satisfying, and the Dos Tamales Divorciados were instant standouts - two tamales topped with red and green moles, with the red rich and chocolatey and the green bright and tangy. The champurrado hot chocolate was another highlight: thick & rich, perfect on a cold day. Dinner was just as satisfying. The mezcal margarita was smooth and well balanced, while the chicken tamale with mole was creamy and rich, the wild mushroom appetizer earthy and umami, and the grilled quail crispy and well seasoned. Desserts sealed the meal beautifully with a custardy pumpkin flan and a fluffy & comforting seasonal bread pudding. Across visits, the food has been consistently wonderful with exceptional hospitality. Easily a place I’d return to again and again.

Had an incredibly enjoyable meal here tonight - food, drinks, and service were all delightful and on point. Small dining room made service feel very personal (thanks, Mario!) and the food was cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed the steak and and pork chop stuffed with Oaxacan cheese and chorizo. We will definitely be back to try more!

“Kie-Gol-Lanee is one of my favorite local restaurants.”
Kie-Gol-Lanee is one of my favorite local restaurants. The food is consistently flavorful and beautifully prepared, and the service is top-notch. Jorge and the team are so polite, attentive, and make every visit a pleasure. The happy hour margaritas never disappoint, and the chapulines were a standout - rich in flavor and perfectly done. You can feel the pride and care in every dish they serve. Well done!

“Outstanding Mexican food and drinks with a cute sidewalk patio and amazing service.”
Outstanding Mexican food and drinks with a cute sidewalk patio and amazing service. Mom and I loved the chips and bean dip to start. I ordered a mezcal cantarito which was a great balance of sweet, fresh juice, salty chapulines and booze. The food has amazing and complex flavors that reminded me of some restaurants I’ve visited in Oaxaca.

“Amazing authentic Oxacan food.”
Amazing authentic Oxacan food. Had fried grasshoppers as the starter and that’s eye opening. Very crispy texture and well seasoned. Also had their chefs special baby lamb chops and it’s the best chops I’ve ever had. Asked for medium rare and it’s so juicy and didnt feel it’s that raw at all. So tender. Service is nice but sometimes they seem a little lost. Parking is absolutely challenging to find and just good luck on that.

“This place was incredible.”
This place was incredible. The food was delicious and fresh. Everything including the bean dip was super flavorful and the atmosphere was very nice at this restaurant. We came in to a full house with a reservation and it was full of voices and other people clearly having a great time as well. The decorations at this place are beautiful as well and make it a good environment to dine in. I am definitely planning my next visit.

10/10 restaurant - my third time here , food is full of flavor and top of the line service. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in all of the Chicagoland area. They even gave me and my girlfriend a complimentary slice of carrot cake for Easter. I wish this place the best they definitely deserve it

“So good! The place is small and kind of cramped but what it lacks in size, this place makes up for...”
So good! The place is small and kind of cramped but what it lacks in size, this place makes up for in taste! We arrived on time but they were packed so we waited in the car for about 10 mins. We were sat upstairs in the corner which was a pleasant surprise because the middle tables were just so close to each other. We ordered from the restaurant week so stared with the margarita which was ok. The tamale was great and had a great chicken filling. The tlayuda w/sliced beef was really nice. The tortilla was nice and crispy and the beef was tender. It heated up well in the air fryer but was pretty messy and difficult to eat since its open face like a pizza, but there’s no binder holding the toppings to the tortilla. The chicken enchiladas were scrumptious and the red mole was the perfect compliment. The camarones de diabla were spicy and delicious. The shrimp were fresh and cooked perfectly but the presentation and plating didn’t make a ton of sense. Covering the cooked shrimp with lettuce was just awkward to eat. The lettuce and avocado should be on the side. We ordered the flan and the tres leches for desert. The presentation of both was amazing, but the tres leches was PHENOMENAL! Not too sweet, nicely balanced, and the perfect size after the dinner menu.
