“Found this place late at night, before checking into our hotel in the Medical District, and I’m so glad we did! The burrito bowl and the torta were both super tasty and really hit the spot. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. Perfect spot if you’re craving some quick and flavorful Mexican food in the area! 🌮🌯”

“I recently visited Chilango, and it was an experience worth sharing. The atmosphere was lively, with a casual, welcoming vibe that instantly made me feel at home. I decided to try their chicken bowl, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Each bite was complemented by fresh, vibrant ingredients, creating a perfect balance of textures and tastes. The seasoning had just the right amount of kick, making every mouthful exciting without being overwhelming. What I loved most was how fresh and thoughtfully prepared everything felt. From the moment I took my first bite, I could tell that care had gone into crafting the bowl. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience, satisfying both my hunger and my craving for something flavorful and comforting. Overall, Chilango is a spot I’d gladly return to. Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch or a flavorful dinner, their bowls hit the mark. My chicken bowl was a simple meal elevated by quality ingredients and attention to detail.”

“The food was absolutely delicious! The taste was very fresh, and we did not have to wait long for our food. The store itself is very warm and inviting! All of their sauces were delicious and paired well with the food. The bowl had a good amount of food and was very filling, and the jamaica was just the right flavor. 10/10 experience, and will definitely be coming back!!!”

“Got the chicken, mushroom and cheese empanada, steak taco, elote, and steak bowl. Everything was good. Not a huge fan of the corn being fire roasted but not bad. Will def come back to try another empanada and grab some more steak tacos.”

“On Cinco de Mayo, I was looking for a place to eat. My friend and I decided to try Chilango because it was close to a Onimaki matcha shop which we were planning to visit. This is a quaint spot with decent seating. There were several families inside with kids enjoying a meal. We ordered shrimp tacos and a beef quesadilla with elote corn. The food was cooked to order and hot when we received it. The food was tasty and good. It was prepared in a timely manner. The staff was friendly. I would return when I am in the area.”

“Updating my review after finding out they use chicken stock in veggie bowls and I found out after reading another review and it’s surprising that the restaurant was not transparent about it. Old review - Delicious food and great staff, with excellent sauces.”

“Food was not good. If you’re looking for real authentic Mexican food, don’t come here. The pictures I took make the food look good but taking a bite is a different story. The meat is not from a good cut and was very fatty. The burrito is full of cheese and lettuce, not much meat anyways, will bloat you. The tomato soup that came with the torta was all over the place, it was very thick and I couldn’t tell what it wanted to be flavor wise, had veggies like onion, potato, and corn in it. The bread was ok, not real bolio. The salsas are ok, chipotle salsa is alright not spicy, verde salsa has a kick not a bad flavor profile, and the red salsa is chipotle and spicy also ok. Lastly, there were lots of small bugs and flys flying around since the doors were held open by a rope, and no air curtain/fan to keep them out. This is a one and done for us.”
