This place is just amazing! The food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. From the starters to the pasta to the grill, every dish I’ve tried has been full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service is also excellent—the staff is attentive, friendly, and always makes sure you’re taken care of. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual meal or a special occasion, it feels welcoming and comfortable. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every part of the experience stands out, but this one does. That’s why I keep visiting again and again—it never disappoints!p

Plateia is hands down one of our all-time favorite restaurants. We’ve tried many spots, but nothing comes close to their Char-Grilled Mediterranean Octopus and Lamb Chops with XVOO & Lemon! The octopus is tender with the perfect char and citrusy balance, and the lamb chops are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled every time. The quality is consistently outstanding and the service has always been warm and attentive. We keep coming back and always order the same things because they’re just that good. We’ve also enjoyed several other dishes here that never disappoint: 🦑Fried Calamari 🦐Shrimp Linguine 🦐Shrimp Mikrolimano

Very impressive moussaka - filling, airy, and great flavors. I’ll need to come back to try the rest. Edit: I came back. It was all very good - the ambiance, the prices, the value. The skewers (souvlaki) was pretty solid, the pita went well with the meat and it all came together well. Pretty healthy too. The oven potatoes were well oiled but not too fatty. The crepe was excellent, great portion and well flavored. Next time I’d like to try the chicken or the lamb - while I liked the skewers dish I probably wouldn’t order it again.

Phenomenal meal at Plateia Mediterranean Kitchen - Bar Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — from the crisp horiatiki salad and savory zucchini fritters to the tender grilled octopus, sizzling saganaki, perfectly grilled fish, and mouthwatering lamb chops. And don’t even get me started on the delicious crepes! Great atmosphere, friendly service, and authentic flavors that made us feel like we were on a quick trip to Greece. Highly recommend if you’re craving outstanding Mediterranean cuisine!

Wow. This place was recommended to me by a Greek friend, and I need to go thank him now. Although we waited 25 minutes to be seated (Saturday, around 18:00), it was worth it! The restaurant does NOT take reservations, you need to come and stand in line, just be smart about the timing. The food came extremely fast and was absolutely delicious. We took only hot starters and desserts to share, but the food all around looked fabulous. I will definitely go again, I want to try more dishes!! The place was obviously full, so very noisy, but it felt so lively I didn't feel it didn't bother me too much.

I came on a very busy Sunday afternoon (waited ~25mins for a table for two). But I think the wait was worth it. The food was delicious, and the waiter and staff were responsive despite it being busy and crowded. For example, I did not have trouble asking for water refills or having plates removed after it was empied. If I had a choice, I'll probably come at a less busy time merely to avoid the ~25mins wait.

We had the perfect lunch, food was freshly prepared with an abundance of flavor. Service was prompt and professional. And the atmosphere was light and comfortable with a clean spirit. This establishment was added to our must go to place's when in Chicago.
