Greek Islands — among the best mediterranean in West Loop. The kind of place your parents probably knew about too. Nothing here has been watered down. Wallet-friendly, no long waits. "The grilled octopus is a bit overchared and the bitterness overrun it's flavor" — Jinglan Sun

“I feel like I had an authentic Greek meal delivered in its best quality”
The atmosphere was nice and the food tasted good. However, the service was disappointing.

Opa! We had a table of 10 for a late holiday celebration… and had a wonderful time. We chose the Family Style option and it was a feast. Great choices for appetizers, entrees and desserts. Even Greek coffee! Plus we had leftovers for our poor college-age kids to take home. Great experience. The bill was $495 (including 3 bottles of vino).

Opa. I tried this spot upon recommendation of friends. The provided curbside valet, which is great considering the area parking. This was a plus. The interior was clean and had an interesting display when checking in with Host. The atmosphere was a little too busy and loud for my taste but, works for the overall experience. The food selection was wonderful. The flavors were very specific to the dish being so different. Which is not always the case. Very delicious. The service was professional and efficient. Too busy for that small talk or joking. Which me and my party were chatty. The desserts were very tasty as well. I will be back for more.

“Excellent service!”
Excellent service!! Niko and Mac kept our drink and bread refills flowing - amazing attention to detail. Loved the vibe of this family owned Greek restaurant - plenty of seating, a huge variety of menu options with very generous portions. Loved the gyro, Greek salad with chicken, chicken kabobs, chicken breast and pork riblets. Forgot to request dressing on side of salad but honestly, it was a delicious dressing that didn’t taste super oily like a lot of other ones - we all loved it. Didn’t love the hummus/fish/feta dip platter-it looks pretty but the taste didn’t hit right. Will try a different appetizer next time. Highly recommend this hidden gem just south of the loop - a very fun and delicious meal with excellent family atmosphere vibes.

“I was lucky enough to be referred by a local patron of Greek heritage (Nick).”
I was lucky enough to be referred by a local patron of Greek heritage (Nick). He directed me to the restaurant and gave me a note to share with the manager. Stephan (if my spelling is wrong, I apologize). He immediately made me feel at home; as if I was in his own family's kitchen. He asked me what I wanted and I said that I am in your hands. The meal was amazing! The lemon and rice soup, the grilled octopus, and the whole fish were delicious. I feel like I had an authentic Greek meal delivered in its best quality. If you are in Chicago I recommend that you visit the Greek town and the Greek Islands restaurant. If you do, say that Nick sent Josh, and Josh sent you. You will not be disappointed.

“We celebrated my husband’s birthday with a Sunday lunch, and everything was absolutely wonderful.”
We celebrated my husband’s birthday with a Sunday lunch, and everything was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We were a group of 12, and our server was both professional and kind, making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the restaurant handled our large group with ease. I highly recommend this place for both small and large gatherings. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back!

“We met some friends for dinner at Greek Islands.”
We met some friends for dinner at Greek Islands. The waiter was very helpful in giving us recommendations around what we were in the mood for. We were seated quickly, and the apps came out fast. Great prices for the quality of food we received. My wife is 7 months pregnant, we ordered a dessert to go and our waiter gave us an extra dessert as a congratulations. I can not recommend this place enough if you're in the mood for good greek food.

“The staff was friendly and guided is through the family style meal options.”
The staff was friendly and guided is through the family style meal options. Service was fast and even though it was near closing time, we never felt rushed. The restaurant has valet service but we took a ride share and had no issues locating it. The dessert tray was fantastic and the scordalia was deliciou.

“I can’t begin to count the times I have dined at Greek islands in the past decade .”
I can’t begin to count the times I have dined at Greek islands in the past decade . And each time I am in Chicago I will religiously make my way to this cult restaurant. The food is that of a time capsule back to when grandmas cooked in the village kitchen . The respect and integrity of the traditional dishes take me back to Greece. Service is always top notch and friendly . Over the years I remember going and it’s always the same friendly faces or either older waiters that spoke Greek or younger generation. In the last few visits I have noticed less of the older staff which is probably due to retirement . May they be well ! Menu is extensive but true to Greek roots . What I find always a great deal when I bring friends here is the restaurant offers an option of Combo dishes , giving an opportunity to try two dishes . Smart idea . Specials can range from daily offerings to the holiday traditional . I recall one evening their special was stuffed baby calamari in red tomato sauce . Heavenly ! My go to dishes revolve around lamb or goat as they are so well prepared and not overly complicated. Deserts are a must : if you have room left ! Try the Galaktoboureko with is custard filling and crunchy fillo . A real staple not only to the community but to anyone with memories of the Hellenic Republic . Keep up the great work guys !

“I’ve been here a few times but today was the best experience yet.”
I’ve been here a few times but today was the best experience yet. Free valet is great, seated without a wait at 5:30 on a Saturday night was unexpected! Food came out quickly. And was fantastic. The octopus and calamari were super tender and flavorful. The bread is really fresh. Great stop on your way into the city.
