“Went there because of their vegan menu: ordered a huarache with zucchini flower and everything else on top! It was so so good and naturally also gluten free! The dough of the huarache was really tasty. They make it out of 100% corn and make them fresh for every order. The atmosphere felt like being with family and getting food served by your aunt who only wants the best for you. So much love and so tasty.”

“Amazing experience. Food was delicious and our server made an excellent suggestion. The vegan menu was way beyond expectations and did not disappoint. I had to ask if the sour cream was actually vegan! Everything tasted spot on. We will be back. Yum!”

“Made a large group order here and all of the dishes were highly enjoyed as reliable Mexican standards. The staff was also extremely friendly and the place was cozy. Tacos and burritos were good, and two vegan friends complimented the soy-rizo specifically which is a nice option for a lot of meat-forward places nearby. I personally got the mole enchiladas. The mole had a good complexity of flavor, maybe a touch heavy on the nutty-chocolatey side, but strong depth for a sauce. Both the side green and red salsas were good too.”

“I got the soyrizo burrito it was very flavorful! Would definitely come back again.”

“Such good plant-based/vegan options. Up there with the best I’ve had ! I got the sope and it was out of this world :)”

“My wife and I decided to come here after getting tired of waiting in line at the always chaotic El Milagro, we were pleasantly surprised by the chill atmosphere, quality service and food just across the street. A stark contrast, but just as exceptional.”

“I came here for the mole and now I see why La Esperanza won Best Mole at Mole de Mayo. Honestly, it’s on another level. I’ve had mole before and thought I liked it, but this one just hits different. The sauce is super rich and velvety, like it’s been simmering all day. Smoky, earthy, a little sweet, then every so often you catch a tiny kick of spice. Each bite keeps you hooked. The chicken was tender and juicy, but really it’s just the delivery system for that sauce. I kept dragging every piece through it like I wasn’t about to let a single drop go to waste. Portion size was spot on, left full but not weighed down. The place has this chill, cozy vibe, nothing flashy, just comfortable. The staff was super friendly too, joking around and making you smile while you eat. If you’ve never had mole or you think you already know mole, this is where you start. I’ll be back for sure.”

“Friendly, Delicious, and authentic, what else could you ask for?! Stop in and enjoy a meal. I had the milanesa de res this time around it comes with the crispiest shoe string fries and rice beans and small salad which are standard.”

“Fui con mi madre a probar comida mexicana y al irnos nos llevamos un pedacito de México con nosotras. La comida exquisita, casera, la opción vegana espectacular y la gente lo mejor, nos sentimos muy acogidas. Rosa nos trató como en su casa, sin duda, el mejor sitio de Chicago”

“Delicious fresh tortillas!! I ordered enchiladas de mole and they were great. Amazing service like no other. Owner treated my family like family . She even sent me home with a plant. Will be going there again for sure!”

“Buena comida, comí la cecina con nopal asado y me hizo sentir como en casa, el café super rico y no se diga el mole...super tranquilo la musica relajante...el ambiente el perfecto.... Te lo recomiendo ampliamente tu servidor el Chef Eden B....”

“Stopped in after Carrera de los Muertos las Saturday. Wait time was worth it. Ordered chilaquiles de mole con cecina. Everything was absolutely delicious. The cecina was soft and tender. The flavor if the mole tasted homemade. Big portions too, had enough to take home.”
