“Amazing tacos @lachaparritagrocery They have a huge menu with lots of different options. They tacos are on the smaller size, like 3 good bites. This allows you to try more!! We didn’t have a bad taco. My favorites were the sweet breads, head, and the tongue. Each one had a unique flavor and cooked perfectly. Also please get a frozen lime margarita. Blended when ordered and it is the old school classic.”

“Casual taco shop, staff were nice. Quick service, they do take-out as well. These might be the best tacos I’ve had in Chicago, highly recommend checking this place out!”

“At this point La Chaparrita should be considered a gold standard when it comes to Chicago's taco arsenal. Sat proper deep in Little Village, the key to their craft is generously braising ingredients in manteca (lard) before final crisping on the plancha and then being chopped and transferred straight onto a bite or two-sized tortilla with onions/cilantro. You'll find similar setups all over the place in Mexico City (CDMX reference pictures attached). Some of the best bites of food in the entire city are at La Chaparrita, and even tho it's about 30-40 minutes from me I make the drive to visit any chance I get. I recommend the tripas dorado, asada picada, and longaniza to start. Slather it all in the verde crema and enjoy!”

“The tacos where amazing!! Took me back to Mexico City!!! The only thing was that there is a strong incense smell in the store… still I would come back!! Don’t change the recipes!!! Very friendly staff…”

“Outstanding tacos. Reminded me of tacos in Mexico City. Highly recommend!”

“Finally found sesos taco im crying it’s really good🥹This place has been on my list for more than a year, I made up my mind to take a 50min trip here and it’s totally worth it.”

“As someone from Southern California, where tacos are a way of life—and yes, I’m talking about spots like Taco Los Cholos and the endless lineup of incredible street tacos—I don’t say this lightly. This place outshines them all. From the perfectly seasoned meats to the quality of the tortillas, everything is done at an elite level. You can tell the techniques and preparation are on another level. Suadero — rich, tender, and packed with flavor Arrachera — perfectly grilled and juicy cecina — absolutely incredible Every bite delivers. If you’re in Chicago, this is not optional—this is a must. Easily one of the best taco spots not just in the city, but in the entire United States. Also great selection of vegan and vegetarian tacos!”

“Absolutely DELICIOUS tacos with plenty of options for gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan patrons. Incredibly fresh and delicious quick service. I got nepalés, pastor, and asada tacos. I will absolutely be retuning!!”

“Only good things to say about his spot. One of my absolute favorites in the area. Tried suadero for the first time here and it’s really delicious but the star of the show is the Al Pastor. Must order! I frequent here and you should too.”

“My go to spot for tacos! Always get a dozen of tacos de canasta 🧺 mixed to start! I order a few tacos de tripa bien dorada solo cilantro! My favorite salsa is the green one they offer.”

“Tiny but mighty tacos with so much flavor! The Al Pastor could very well be the best in the city. The Suadero is a must, as are the Cebollitas Asadas (essentially tiny onions cooked in amazing flavors that you pop in your mouth). Aguas Frescas is also such a good change of pace and balance from the spicy food and salsas Will go back repeatedly with out of town guests!”

“Hands down my favorite tacos in Chicago! If you’re in Little Village, this spot is a must! It’s part grocery store, part taqueria, and honestly feels like you’re stepping straight into Mexico! The decor, the atmosphere, even the little details on the tables! 🥹 I’ve tried asada and al pastor tacos here. The asada was my personal favorite, but everything was packed with flavor! They serve radishes and limes at the table, plus cebollitas and chiles asados on the side. The tacos are smaller size, so if in doubt order more! 😋 Service is fast, friendly, and consistent! Even when there’s a wait, you can tell the food is super fresh and worth it. Drinks are great too! The horchata is my personal favorite but their liquados are also amazing! Overall, this place is authentic, affordable, and absolutely delicious. This is my go-to every time I’m in the Chicago area, I can’t wait to be back!”
