“I was at work and searched Google for the best jerk restaurants near me, and Jerk Sou’ Lay came up. I decided to give it a try for lunch, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was outstanding. Everyone greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome. One thing that really stood out was that they remembered my name it’s a small gesture that makes a big difference and shows they genuinely care about their customers. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything was cooked fresh, full of flavor, and well worth the wait. You can definitely tell they take pride in the quality of their food. I highly recommend Jerk Soule to anyone looking for authentic, delicious jerk cuisine and exceptional customer service. I’ll definitely be back!”
“We were about 40 minutes away for my daughter’s maternity photo shoot when she decided she was craving jerk and soul food. After reading review after review online, we took a chance on Jerk Sou’Lay—even though it was another 40 minutes away—and I am so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was absolutely amazing. We were welcomed like family, and you could truly feel the love and passion they put into both their service and their food. Every bite was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I had the jerk chicken with rice, cabbage and a side of mac & cheese, and let me tell you this meal was a 100/10! The jerk chicken was seasoned perfectly, the rice and cabbage were delicious, and that mac & cheese was everything you want comfort food to be. We even got some to take home. The only thing I was sad about was missing out on the greens because they were sold out, but honestly, that’s just another reason to make the trip back! Great food is one thing, but great food combined with genuine hospitality is what makes a place unforgettable. Jerk Sou’Lay delivered both. What started as a gamble turned into one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be making the 1 hour and 45 minute drive back because this place is absolutely worth it. Thank you for the amazing food, warm welcome, and incredible experience. “Im a rican from the west side. Deff making this trip again! I am Caribbean so this was especially good, but even then this food (and anglo-caribbean) in general has a flavor so unique. Honestly, one of my favs in the city. This is the dark meat, rice, mac and cheese, cabage, beff patty and plantain!”

“If you are looking for delicious food go to Jerk Sou’lay located at 8216 S Kedzie in Chicago. Their food is authentic, outstanding, and full of flavor. The customer service is amazing. The atmosphere is family friendly, and the prices are on point! They have full menu, but I love the CABBAGE and DARK JERK CHICKEN meal. On a good day I have been able to sample their specialties like peach cobbler eggs rolls and non-acholic drinks. Follow them on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok to see testimonies from real customers. Five stars hands down! Btw, I catered part of my Thanksgiving meal from them! The family loved it!”

“First time here. Received a warm greeting upon entry. The young lady explained my options and took my order. I order grilled salmon, 6 wing dinner and 1/2 chicken dinner. Both chicken dinner included 2 sides in addition to the beans and rice. My wait was very long but perhaps it was bcuz the 1/2 chicken was fresh cooked, as well the the salmon. My wings did not find fresh cooked and were actually overcooked. I will give them another shot bcuz the salmon and 1/2 chicken were cooked perfectly. Sides we got were yams, cabbage, green beans and macnchz. Green beans and cabbage seasoned well, cabbage was softer than I’d like but that’s subjective. Mac is not baked, kinda like a stovetop with extra seasoning. Beans and rice were good as well. Despite wings being over cooked they had a decent flavor. Next time I’d specify to ensure my wings are not overcooked. The piece was good for the food we got. The wait was like an hour so to get dry wings was a disappointment.”
