DixiePura Kitchen — low-key food in Bronzeville that runs on repeat customers. Low-lit and personal, a strong date-night pick. "the Ribs were in a dark broth which gave them a nice asian garlic flavor and they were tender" — OQuinn Holmes

“its a small place maybe seats 10 to 15 folks but that seems to be the standard model for newer neighborhood restaurants now”
Overrated from top to bottom I had a very disappointing experience at Dixie Pura Kitchen.

My friend and I had the most wonderful experience at brunch here the other day! I've been desiring a local place with delicious brunch and a great ambience and found it! I can't wait to see it become a Bronzeville staple and am recommending to my friends!

“Highly recommend.”
Highly recommend! All the flavors are incredible. .And it’s heartwarming to see how passionate everyone is about the food and the legacy of their family. Got the Ernie’s Fingers as an app it was incredible! The pimento mac was amazing! So was the garlic ginger fried rice and garlic cabbage. Drinks were on point as well. I tried the tropical smoke. I can’t wait to come back to try their brunch.

“Went to DPK today for brunch and it was fantastic.”
Went to DPK today for brunch and it was fantastic. I had the Korean fried chicken, which was top tier. Ambience is great too, loved the music in the background. I’ll be back!

“My wife and I had an incredible experience at Dixie Pura.”
My wife and I had an incredible experience at Dixie Pura. The owner and chef, Chloe, is Bronzeville born and raised, and she brings with her years of living and working across Southeast Asia. She’s created something truly special here. The menu blends her roots with those global influences in a way that feels both sophisticated and deeply grounded. The flavors are bold and thoughtful, and many of the dishes and cocktails come with personal stories tied to her family and friends. That sense of connection carries through the entire restaurant. It’s not just about great food, it’s about people, relationships, and community. The space itself is intimate and welcoming. Within minutes of arriving, we were chatting with other guests, swapping stories, and collectively admiring this exciting new addition to Bronzeville. Chloe should be incredibly proud of what she’s built here, and of the meaningful investment she’s made in her community.

“I had the Blackeye Pea Humas .”
I had the Blackeye Pea Humas .. Bak Kut Teh .. BBQ Ribs ..Hainanese style rice ..Charred green onion ..everything was fresh tastee and had a unique layout to it ..The Blackeye Peas Humus came with pita bread pieces and cornbread sticks which was very unique & Different .. the Ribs were in a dark broth which gave them a nice asian garlic flavor and they were tender ...the rice was Ok but with the broth from the Ribs it helped to kick up the flavor a bit ... its a small place maybe seats 10 to 15 folks but that seems to be the standard model for newer neighborhood restaurants now ...OQ

“Full of flavor and personable staff.”
Full of flavor and personable staff. Chef Chloe came out to greet us. I'd suggest making reservations as it's a quaint and intimate place. Brunch is my favorite menu but the food in general is fantastically different.

“Absolutely loved the food - the vegetarian fried rice and house toast were delicious.”
Absolutely loved the food - the vegetarian fried rice and house toast were delicious. Loved the options on the drink menu, with Black owned wine and spirits. The owner/chef is so personable and inviting. Highly recommend. (Wish I’d taken a pic, but once I had the first bite, I wasn’t thinking about my phone.)
