Really enjoyed my sushi experience at Tanoshi Sushi! The vibe is cozy, the staff are super nice, and the food is fresh and tasty! Loved the seared tuna salad, and the fish & chips were surprisingly good. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when craving sushi.

The service is top-notch, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Don't miss out on this culinary delight! Tanoshii Sushi has ruined me for all other sushi spots - I'll be back again and again!

“Do the Tanoshii omakase.”

Do the Tanoshii omakase. Fish and chip, seared tuna, fresh wasabi roll, salmon truffle roll, Italian roll, and spicy roll. Probably one more than we needed for two people, but worth it. The Italian was intriguing, but probably the only one I wouldn’t order again.

Sometimes I want to fly to Chicago just for Tanoshi. I come here EVERY time I visit Chicago and have yet to find a place local to me that even comes close. The creativity and taste matched with the perfect balance of rice and fish in each roll is unparalleled. I crave these rolls and quite literally make this the highlight of my trip.

Tanoshii {Andersonville) was very busy. Our party of 2 had 7:30 reservations and were seated at the bar (by request), shortly thereafter. As far as ordering, and after talking to the chef, we decided to trust the team that evening as opposed to enjoying our meal from the menu like most places. This can be an expensive proposition, depending on appetite, be prepared. As it turns out, deciding to trust the capable hands of the staff there that night was the right choice, we were not disappointed. Daniel was our chef, and Noah the Sous, Dika and Alberto the assistants. All 4 worked as a flawless team. The incredible theater that took place in front of us has shown us a new experience in sushi. Never seeing a menu, never using soy sauce, and never touching the green horseradish that Americans call Wasabi - we put our trust into Daniel and he delivered. If the translation of Tanoshii is "pleasant", it had been that and more. Chef Mike, owner and operator of Tanoshii, I would like to propose new names for future restaurants you may open... If you could please translate: "Mouth orgasm" and/or "Brilliantly delightful".

Wonderful experience, great accommodating service, they know the right amount of server to costomer interactions so they don’t bother you during your meal, personable experience, the quality of the fish is reflected in the price, taste is very fresh, and some of the best miso soup i’ve had! The atmosphere is very laid back, and the restaurant is not loud at all! I would say that it isn’t too kid friendly, definitely a date night kind of place, highly recommend, will be coming back, one of my favorite places in Chicago
