“Great sushi spot with fresh and delicious food! Everything tasted high quality, and you can really tell the ingredients are fresh. My favorite dishes were the shrimp tempura roll and the salmon—both were absolutely amazing. The shrimp tempura roll was crispy and flavorful, while the salmon was incredibly fresh and melted in my mouth. Highly recommend for anyone craving good sushi!”

“A roll is $5!! Get 5 for $30 and then tip $10! Wow, good food Affordable and tasty The place smells of warm soy sauce and has seating after 5pm. The food is actually taste worthy. Sure it may get cold after ordering for two hours , but normal issues aside it is tasty. You can order a large number of rolls and be satisfied. Definitely I rate it a 9/10 for the 3 times that I have ordered a roll. I ordered just plain rolls each time , came out quickly and tasted good enough and fresh enough too. My photo is the last piece of spicy tuna- it is four pieces filled well for $6 total minus tip. Seems this spot should be more popular. Not sure what the woman is saying about the manager - nor the other customer who got supposedly ‘small sushi’ her photo clearly shows big pieces. The other couple also must’ve taken a broken plastic container as the end of the works. I’m emotionally intelligent and I know The front guy isn’t rude, he is just employed, and has an accent of Asian decent. They speak fast and quick, no smilinn.”

“VERY FRESH sushi, good prices, and our server was very nice. Definitely reccomend”

“A very nice small sushi bar. The staff are very welcoming and attentive, we got edamame, gyoza, and cucumber salad, and the unagi q roll, sweet potato roll, spicy tuna roll, and the cub roll (shrimp tempora, deep fried bell peppers, avocado, and spicy mayo). All of the food was absolutely delicious, the service was quick and for dessert we had the brown sugar Boba ice cream bar and it was fun.”

“Extensive menu and the best prices in chicago. My go-to place for a sushi fix. Nothing is very fancy but is simple and always hits the spot. Good quality and delicious!”

“I ordered from here on 7/20/21 and 2 orders of spicy tuna rolls, 2 orders of tuna and avocado rolls, and 3 piece of tuna sushi. Quality was better than expected for the price. I normally order from another Japanese sushi restaurant and I only get half of what I got with Gorilla sushi. Highly recommended, fast delivery, great prices!”

“I’ve been the gorilla sushi before and loved the food. I like that everything is small portions and the same price. I ordered takeout a couple weeks ago and I had two problems. First, the restaurant doesn’t open till 5 PM for dinner and that’s the earliest pick up time, but online ordering doesn’t account for prep time for the kitchen. So, even though I ordered in advance, I still had to wait for the food. Also, I found several hairs in my sushi. When I called the restaurant, I was told I would be contacted by a manager, but I never got any resolution. I don’t like posting negative reviews, but perhaps this will catch management’s eyes to resolve my issue.”

“The food is fine- the quality is what you'd expect for $4.99 sushi. I'm writing more so as someone that's had uncomfortable experiences here as a woman of color. Since this is the closest sushi place to me I've been here several times and every time the woman/man couple or whoever they are that bring you the orders are cold/hostile. At first I brushed it off as them just being busy but I've noticed how much warmer they are with other customers. I ignored the few times they've confused me for an Uber eats driver. One time they chided me for being "too early" to pick up my order so today I arrived 15 mins after the pickup time. I tell them my name and nothing- they don't let me know if my order will take longer or if there's any issues. I wait on the side for another 15 mins and when they finally hand me my order there's no acknowledgment of it being 30 mins late or not even correct as I discovered when I got home. However the whole time they're perfectly pleasant, thanking and exchanging pleasantries with other patrons. After today dont think I'll be returning to pay for incorrect, late orders with a side of prejudice.”

“This is the first time ordering at this location and I was more than disappointed …. The fried shrimp was cold and the box was broken it seems liked they microwaved it … the spider rolls had expired seafood and had a bad taste to it I just spit it out and the Thai tea was garbage I didn’t even drink it all plus my girlfriends stomach started cramping up after we ate the food ….. I order the same thing at different location at the same price and never have I ate something this bad I recommend going to another location if you want sushi because this one ain’t it…. I only ate it because I was hungry but I didn’t even enjoy it”

“Don't get the wings. The are bite sized and absolutely wings you could get out of the freezer at the grocery store. I got two rolls. I have never seen sushi rolls so tiny in y entire life. Updated: one roll was poor quality but edible, the other I at one piece and it was clear that the salmon was spoiled. The only thing good was the seaweed salad. Stay away from here”
