I sat at the table infront the sushi part. Inside was small and cozy. Bathrooms clean. The curry was a hearty portion!! The shrimp and oysters were perfectly crispy

Very yummy japanese curry. The atmosphere makes me feel very nostalgic and happy. Excellent service. I forgot to take a picture of my food before I started eating so excuse the photo.

I came in with 6 friends for an anime convention and we all agree this is the best Japanese food we’ve had outside of Japan.

Food is made right in front of you and tastes fresh! They have a variety of drinks as well. Staff is kind and on top of service. The restaurant is tidy and has beautiful bright Asian art work on display. :)

I went for lunch with high expectations because I’ve heard good things about Chicago Sushi. I mainly wanted the jewelry box because that’s mainly what attracted me to this restaurant. Fish tasted fresh, rice was nicely seasoned, but the salmon pieces looked like the shaved, broken end pieces that’s supposed to be chopped up for spicy salmon rolls. On top of that, I found 3 pieces of scale in the salmon bits. The tuna, eel, ikura, uni, and everything else in the box were delicious though. Just really disappointed with the salmon because of the strands of random parts of salmon and scales. I also ordered the crispy rice with spicy tuna. Tuna was fine but the crispy rice tasted like it was refried and fried too hard. My husband ordered the pork cutlet curry. We didn’t see anywhere on the menu where this is supposed to be a cold curry served with lukewarm rice. Our server never came around to our table to see how we were doing, if we needed a refill on ice, or if we needed anything else. So I couldn’t even ask him about the cold curry and rice. The pork was either overcooked or just a poor cut because it was chewy. Edamame was fine. The server only came back around when he noticed we were done eating. He brought the check with him too but didn’t say much to us other than thank you for dining with us today. Overall I would not go back based on the salmon quality and service we received.

2nd Version after 2 years: This used to be my must go spot every time I was near O’Hare Airport, but today’s visit was honestly very disappointing. 1. Price: The price of Chirashi bowl has jumped from 19.95 to 29.25, the 50% increase makes here not a great value place anymore. Other food also increased some; 2. Food: Their menu changed a lot, I’m here for the blue crab and scallop bowl, but it disappeared. I also noticed some I ordered before were not there; 3. Service: The server seems has a bad day and came across as quite unprofessional. From the moment I walked in, I haven’t seen a single smile on her face. If you really don’t want a customer, please just close the door, ok? I also asked for the wasabi (left in my pic), but was given wasabi sauce (right bottle) instead. That sauce is already sitting on every table, so bringing me another bottle really didn’t make any sense. I even clarified a second time that I wanted wasabi, not the sauce, but that lady told me that was the only option. I honestly don’t understand how someone working in a sushi restaurant can’t tell the difference between these two. Thankfully, the chef stepped in and gave me the actual wasabi. Also, before I had even finished my meal, I was approached and asked to pay. The server stood next to me with the POS machine, watching while I completed the payment, which felt quite uncomfortable. Especially when the restaurant was nearly empty at the time. Overall, this experience was really disappointing. With the higher prices, menu changes, and the service I received, this place no longer feels worth coming back to. --- 1st Version: Have been here several times! Love the uni chirashi bowl, that’s a must have!

I wish I would leave zero stars review but unfortunately you have to leave at least one. Ordered from them Sunday night for delivery. The second we opened the bag we knew we are not gonna eat it. Everything looked old and dry. One roll was cut into few huge pieces and one really thin one. I mean all the rolls were cut horribly and unevenly and there was no way to eat it. Rolls didn’t look even close to what they are advertising. Would not recommend it. And also they are not cheap, I’m used to “you get what you pay for” but that’s not the case with this place. Stay away from them. Never again

Food was not great. I found an avocado sticker with the avocado skin on it in my salmon avocado roll. I understand accidents happen but it was sticking out of the piece, they should've seen it. My other roll wasn't bad, the tempura Philadelphia, but it has avocado as well which made me cautious while eating and made the whole experience not as pleasant. Then the last roll to be brought out, the rainbow roll, just didn't look good at all. It was sloppy and the fish did not look fresh. We ended up sending that one back and had them take it off our bill, which came out to $54 for 4 rolls. They did offer us a free mochi dessert but we declined. I would have liked a discount offer rather than a dessert. Also the bathrooms were not very clean. The service wasn't terrible, but overall, I would not recommend eating here.
