One of the best and authentic Hyderabadi style food, Unlike typical Indian restaurants, the taste is especial to talk for, the atmosphere is Ok, service could be better but it can be negated with the quality of food you get here

TAWAKKUL RESTAURANT — neighborhood indian in Devon Avenue. It gets busy, and that's part of the appeal. Honest, uncompromised flavors throughout. Open late. Explorer: "The other dishes were flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared too" [$$]

🌱Vegan & vegetarian friendly — real options, not one sad pasta.
🌙Late night — the kitchen runs past 10.

Amazing food, especially the goat (mutton) biryani and the chicken 65 biryani. Went there with a friend and I must say we had a good time. The atmosphere is also super! Very much recommended. I wish we had Tawakkul around UIC. : )

Tawakkul Restaurant, Chicago is pure Hyderabadi soul food. Tried the tahari, mutton biryani, and haleem, and the haleem + tahari absolutely stole the show. Deep flavors, perfectly cooked, and insanely satisfying. The service was on point, warm and welcoming, and the whole experience straight-up felt like Hyderabad. If you know, you know. This spot is a must for anyone chasing real Hyderabadi taste in Chicago.

Me and my friends were visiting Chicago, so we tried this restaurant and overall it turned out to be a good spot to try. The mutton appetizer ( Talawa Gosht ) was very flavorful, with tender meat that really stood out. The chicken and gobi appetizers were not that great, and the food coloring could be toned down a bit. The paneer biryani felt more like paneer fried rice, but the flavor and taste were still good. On the other hand, the chicken biryani was spot on and came very close to authentic Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani. When it comes to desserts, they truly shine. While the double ka meetha was quite disappointing, the fruit and dry fruit truffle was absolutely AMAZING and a definite must-try. Overall, it’s a good place for food with several standout dishes. With a little more attention to hygiene, this restaurant could be even better.

I don’t like rating less on restaurants as i know the hard work behind running it. Writing this Review with a Heavy Heart. Mutton biryani here is always been my favorite and I come here everytime for their authentic delicious flavor from 3 years See these pics do you think mutton is cooked ??? Not even half cooked. Please maintain consistency and standards And mainly attitude of waiters is worse. No table allotment and no attending customers Hospitality is getting worser day by day. I think after restaurant gets success attitude rises neglecting customers. Please maintain standards and hygiene It affects your own reputation . Don’t loose CREDIBILITY and CUSTOMERS with your idiotic attitude Run business WISELY UPDATE : Seems they are not bothered about customer complaints

This is the second time I have had a terrible experience here, and it will be my last. I bought a dessert last night that was completely horrible and had a foul smell. It is obvious they are selling expired products. I do not understand how this establishment still holds a food license. The service is awful, and the food safety department seriously needs to investigate this place. Absolutely never recommend. Do not eat here!"

Tawakkul Restaurant on Devon Avenue is one of the worst food experiences I’ve had in Chicago. The food quality was very poor, the taste was disappointing, and the hygiene standards did not seem acceptable. I would strongly advise Indian and people from other countries not to visit this restaurant. There are many better options on Devon Avenue with good food and service. This place did not meet basic expectations.

I ordered a goat biriyani from this restaurant 3rd time, last two times I am unhappy with the less amount of meat and more bones. This time literally I swear all of them are bones as shown in the picture. As a repeat customer waiting for an hour this is terrible Experience. I called them immediately and Mohamed lift the call and says next time I order they will take care of it. That does’t sounds promising and it’s a very very bad experience.

🚨 WARNING: TAWAKKAL RESTAURANT on Devon Ave, Chicago - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 🚨 I'm still gagging thinking about my experience at this dump. 🪳 ROACHES EVERYWHERE! Like, seriously, they're running around like it's their restaurant 😷. Unbelievable that a place like this is still serving food. 🤢 The health department clearly hasn't done their job here. 🤔 Video evidence exists, don't visit until they get their act together (and even then, think twice). 🛑 #TawakkulRestaurant #DevonAve #Chicago #FoodSafetyNightmare #RochInfestation

Tastes great but don't order using the restaurant's website, they won't see the order.
