Oberoi's Authentic Indian Food Is temporarily closed. — indian in Devon Avenue. A holdout in the best possible way. Flavors that haven't been adjusted for mass appeal. Solid veggie options. "The chicken kadai was one of the best dishes we tried" — Juan Sebastian Arias

“Regardless, this may be the best indian restaurant overall my wife and I have ever been to (either this or Mild2Spicy)”

“The takeout I ordered was delicious.”
The takeout I ordered was delicious! Everything was well seasoned and a pretty substantial portion for the price. I was able to split up the order into two meal. The mutton kolhapuri was very tasty. I also had a sweet lassi and some garlic naan. So good!

“we visited chicago for the first time, we found many Pakistani restaurants on Devon Ave, but only a few Indian ones.”
we visited chicago for the first time, we found many Pakistani restaurants on Devon Ave, but only a few Indian ones. We chose this restaurant because it was open until midnight. We ordered a vegetarian thali, paneer bhurji, and chapati. The service was good, and the food was delicious. Prices were fair, and the place was family-friendly. The person who took our order, possibly the owner, was very nice and suggested ordering fewer rotis because they were big. We'd happily recommend it. Thanks for a great experience.

“DO NOT listen to the one star reviews, especially Ankit’s.”
DO NOT listen to the one star reviews, especially Ankit’s. We got sweet, salty, and mango lassis and pakora to start. Followed by veg and non veg Thalis. Portion sizes were incredible and great for the prices. Left feeling very satisfied with plenty of leftovers. All curries included were delicious, tandoori chicken was tender and drinks and pakora were perfect. Great and speedy service as well (we went quite early too, around 7pm)

“Oberois we found by accident because we were looking for Hema’s Kitchen.”
Oberois we found by accident because we were looking for Hema’s Kitchen. Apparently they retired. Regardless, this may be the best indian restaurant overall my wife and I have ever been to (either this or Mild2Spicy). They had the 2nd best tikka masala Ive ever had. Garlic naan was perfectly cooked, soft, and smothered in garlic. Absolutely perfection! The veggie samosas were spiced perfectly. Also, we got the chilli gobi and it was SO good. We saw someone else get it and thought it looked and sounded good so we tried it and were so happy we did. Highly recommend this place!

“Delicious, easy and chill dinner spot.”
Delicious, easy and chill dinner spot! The chicken kadai was one of the best dishes we tried. Chicken 65 also very yummy and same for the chicken jelfraizi. Service was good, efficient and not overly intrusive. Perfect spot for a good catch up with a friend! We will be back. BYOB too which is great.

“I normally go to “Naan On Devon & Grill” which is right down the street but they didn’t answer there phone today.”
I normally go to “Naan On Devon & Grill” which is right down the street but they didn’t answer there phone today. So I decided to try this place out and it’s absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back. The chicken tikka masala is delicious and the garlic naan was cooked perfectly. They also give you a generous portion of complimentary rice which paired well with the food. All the food pictured below was only $20.

Great taste! Mutton dum biryani was flavorful and tasty! I’m usually not much of an Indian/ Pakistani biryani fan- preferring the Sri Lankan bold flavored biryani- however this one was light saffron infused and had a great end kick of flavor. Not greasy at all. The Chana bhatura was my favorite. I’ve always been a fan of the deep fried crispy “bread”. Puffy hot right out of the oil it’s a hot pocket of oily goodness! The Chana “ chickpea” curry was really flavorful. Would have liked a little more gravy to sop up with the bhatura. The chicken manchurian was not a style I had had before- to me it was a fusion of a chili chicken and a chicken 65. While it wasn’t a traditional Manchurian I was used to- it was quite tasty. Bold flavour- with a drier spice. Overall we would order from here again!

“I went for lunch with plans to order the lamb biryani.”
I went for lunch with plans to order the lamb biryani. However, a nearby table ordered it and it looked like enough to feed four people. I switched to the veg thali and it was still a huge amount of food. I finished everything because it was so delicious.

“Spectacular, amazing Indian food I was here yesterday and there was quite a lot to order.”
Spectacular, amazing Indian food I was here yesterday and there was quite a lot to order. I was here for something non vegetarian. I ordered the non vegetarian platter and samosa and it was delicious. Great food. Loved it! I will definitely come back for the samosa and try another dish.
