Indian Dhaba — an indian spot in Pilsen. The welcome here is real. Owner on site, good for vegetarians. Anuj Nagpal: "The chaap was cooked to perfection, with a rich, smoky flavor that paired beautifully with the spices"

“I recently tried the Mango Lash at Indian Dhaba and it’s an absolute must-try.”
I recently tried the Mango Lash at Indian Dhaba and it’s an absolute must-try! Just one bite and you’ll get a true taste of India. The Chole Bhature and Malai Chap are so delicious—they remind me of those comforting, home-cooked meals I used to enjoy during my student days. Plus, the prices are really comfortable, especially compared to the pricier spots like Maharaja. If you’re after authentic Indian food without breaking the bank, this place is definitely worth a visit!

“I am so thankful for this new place Indian Dhaba that I found in Downtown Chicago.”
I am so thankful for this new place Indian Dhaba that I found in Downtown Chicago. I am so impressed by the service and good quality, tasty Indian food. The owner is extremely sweet. He suggested us few items. We ordered paneer pakode, chole bhature, soya chaap and naan, biryani and butterscotch pastry. Everything was so delicious and it reminded me of “eating good Indian food days” back in Delhi. It’s also extremely pocket-friendly compared to other Indian food places. I will definitely be back to try more dishes.

“I recently visited the newly opened Indian Dhaba, and I must say it was an impressive experience.”
I recently visited the newly opened Indian Dhaba, and I must say it was an impressive experience! The standout dish for me was the soya chaap. It was absolutely amazing. The chaap was cooked to perfection, with a rich, smoky flavor that paired beautifully with the spices. It was well presented, and the portion size was generous. I can't wait to return and try more dishes from their extensive menu. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors!

“We got the chole bhature, malai soya chaap and kadi chawal.”
We got the chole bhature, malai soya chaap and kadi chawal. The first two were fantastic but the kadi lacked flavor and unfortunately is not served with basmati but instead with some short grained rice. I love that they provide mirchi (green chilis) on the side and their chai is just like mom’s.

“Raw chicken with visible blood inside.”
Raw chicken with visible blood inside. Photos attached. Completely unsafe and honestly disgusting. There’s clearly no hygiene or professionalism here. The food tasted terrible, and it doesn’t seem like there’s a trained chef in the kitchen. The restaurant was empty, and after this experience, it’s obvious why. Do not eat here. Avoid.

Crossposting from Yelp: I make a concerted effort to support local businesses, but this place makes it nearly impossible. I have eaten here on a couple occasions, and as another review pointed out, the cleanliness of the kitchen makes it feel unsafe to patronize. Also, as a community member, they are a nightmare. They repeatedly leave boxes and food waste unsecured in the adjacent alley. At one point, they left an entire trash bag of spoiled chicken in the alley in the middle of summer. They don't secure their grease trap, so it gets full of other trash, which makes me wonder if they are even properly disposing of grease. Absolutely terrible business.
