Kama — well-regarded indian in La Grange. Casual, established, and unapologetic about it. Good cocktails round out an already strong menu. "Wow the food here was the best Indian food I've ever had in my life" — Dorian Shelton

We had the pain puri, chilly potatoes, chicken tikka masala, paneer ravioli, kulfi and kheer. (don’t expect your avg. Indian food) this is Indian food with a twist. The food was fantastic!!! Everything was delicious and tasty! Ambience is dimmed and cute. Would definitely come back here

“Absolutely outstanding experience at Kama Bistro.”
Absolutely outstanding experience at Kama Bistro. The food was exceptional — the Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked, the mixed lamb was full of flavor, and the desserts were the perfect finish to an already incredible meal. Our server, Anna, truly elevated the night. She knew the menu inside out, guided us through the options, and every one of her recommendations was spot on. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.

“My wife and I tried this place because we like Indian food and have tried several of the other local Indian spots.”
My wife and I tried this place because we like Indian food and have tried several of the other local Indian spots. This place was more elevated than other local Indian locations. The server gave great recommendations and there was a handful of specials that day. We got the Chicken Lemon Tadka as an appetizer and it was just the right mix of creamy lemon flavor with the chicken, the sauce was incredible. The Lamb Chop Masala was delicious and I found putting the whole lamb chops in the dish really elevated it from your typical masala. You could taste the flavor from the grill on the lamb chop while also getting to taste the savory masala sauce. Next we had the Tiger Prawns Molly and at first the presentation blew us away but it was another one where the flavor won the day. This dish we were looking at and when our waitress recommended it to us we had to have it and was not disappointed. Naan was light and fluffy. The drink and cocktail menu looks incredible. My wife's drink was refreshing and a good combination of ingredients. The indoor atmosphere is elegant and I love the bar decor. Price for this Indian food is higher than other local places but as someone who cares about value I can tell you that this place gives you elevated Indian dishes that reasonably match the elevated price. And you get a large serving with your entree, so I say this place is well worth the price. I would definitely recommend going here. Get the mild spice if you aren't that into spicy food. If you can take jalapeno/habanero level spice go medium. If you want maximum spice they have dishes here with California reaper, and other extremely spicy dishes. We got medium spice on the lamb chop masala and mild spice on the Tiger Prawns Molly and both turned out with a little bit of heat but I think it was just right.

“My family goes a few times a year, it is not close.”
My family goes a few times a year, it is not close. My daughter nas a nut allergy and is vegan and gluten free. She has so many options there. The food and service are outstanding. I made a reservation for my daughters birthday and said it was for a birthday. We told the server right away of her nut allergy and vegan and gluten free. The food was outstanding. Near the end the server came and knew it was for a birthday. She guessed it was my daughter. Knowing the food limits she recommended the coconut milk rice pudding with brulee and would not add the nuts for her birthday dessert. That was impressive. My daughter LOVED it. We will be back. So many workers said goodnight and thank you as we left. If you have not been here, you don't know what you are missing. I just pulled up the receipt I was texted. Unfortunately it does not have my servers name, or I would share it. She was outstanding

“After hearing a lot of praise about this place, we went there to try it out.”
After hearing a lot of praise about this place, we went there to try it out. It sure did live up to its expectations! We tried a wide variety of items on the menu and nothing disappointed. Worth checking it out if you like Indian cuisine. PS- I did really like their take on some of the cocktails.

“Their new lunch menu is divine.”
Their new lunch menu is divine! You’ll want one of each but don’t skip on the mussels, the masala crab cake and the masala grilled cheese! Cocktails are insane! That Kamarita!!!

“Kama was awesome as usual.”
Kama was awesome as usual. It was fun to see sauces made with Carolina reaper pepper, especially on the Vindaloo We had the chutny platter to start always a great and light start. Wine availability was very good, my wife went the Shoofly Shiraz and enjoyed it. Its available at Binnys when you need more to eat your left overs. We order Saag sauce with lamb and vindaloo spicy with chicken. both dishes outstanding. Chef did not hold back of on the heat, so fun and tasty. If you want hot, go khama-kazee. The stuffed non was good, but plain non or garlic nan a much better choice! The Doorsa (basmati rice beer) was very qunching. Nice portions for price as well. Nice seeing people pouring in after 730. A real winner here!
