Greek Islands — among the best mediterranean in West Loop. The kind of place your parents probably knew about too. Nothing here has been watered down. Wallet-friendly, no long waits. "The grilled octopus is a bit overchared and the bitterness overrun it's flavor" — Jinglan Sun [$$]

Staple Chicago Greek Spot. Quality of the food is outstanding. Branzino is a must with fresh lemons. Sometimes spots like this get over looked in search for something new… go for it - I’ll be here🤌🏻

Best tasting olives we've ever had. Grilled octopus appetizer genius. Waiter recommended rose wine ...excellent call. Salmon special to die for.

My experience at Greek Islands was definitely a 5/5. Spacious, clean, polite staff and wonderful wait service. Our waiter Christofores, super cool and funny. He talked about his journey from Greece to Chicago to play soccer, learning English in two years, and meeting his now best friend from Nigeria by a chance encounter at the airport. The food was really good. Rustic, nice flavors. Everything tasted and looked fresh. Will definitely have to visit here again.

Excellent experience at Greek Islands. The server Jacqueline was terrific, had great skill in fileting the redfish I ordered, every table around me had the flaming cheese. The grilled octopus was very good as an appetizer it reminded me of memorable food in Athens and in the Azores. Had a great time highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Greek food.

Opa! We had a table of 10 for a late holiday celebration… and had a wonderful time. We chose the Family Style option and it was a feast. Great choices for appetizers, entrees and desserts. Even Greek coffee! Plus we had leftovers for our poor college-age kids to take home. Great experience. The bill was $495 (including 3 bottles of vino).

There is a free valet service for parking. Cost of parking is what you tip the valet.

Generally good experience. The grilled octopus is a bit overchared and the bitterness overrun it's flavor. Chicken lemon soup is awesome. Fish is great. The lamb rack could be a bit more flavor, but still okay. Coffee and desert are highly recommended.

The service was friendly and efficient, and we were seated immediately without any wait. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. The starters were the highlight of the meal. The fish soup and chickpea soup were both excellent, full of flavour and very enjoyable. The gigantes (Greek giant beans) were also delicious. We were served two types of bread, one was fresh and tasty, although the other seemed a little stale. Unfortunately, the main courses were disappointing. We ordered the lamb with orzo and the lamb with potatoes, and both dishes were extremely greasy. There was simply too much oil for our taste, and we ended up leaving most of them. To finish, we had Galatopita, which was excellent and one of the best parts of the meal. The Greek coffee, however, was very watery and lacked the strong flavour we expected. Overall, there were some very good elements, particularly the starters, dessert, service and atmosphere, but the overly greasy main courses and weak coffee let the experience down. For us, it was a 3-star visit.

I enjoyed my meal at the Greek Islands. My waitress was kind and checked in with me frequently. I ordered the combination plate and was able to sample different items. My favorite was the lamb and mousska. The rice pudding had just the right amount ofsweet. The staff makes you feel welcome. Definitely would visit again.
