Lola Tining's Cuisine — filipino in Forest Park. Order the Egg Rolls. The kind of cooking that doesn't need to explain itself. Affordable. LaTifia Bryant: "The egg rolls were really good as well, but I didn't really like the crispy pork"

“and of course we had Halo Halo, which is probably my favorite I've had so far in the greater Chicago area”
Been craving for a Filipino pork bbq for days and googled the nearest place in my area.Today I was sent home early from work and thought i can go get my cravings and ordering for pickup.
The taste of food they cook and sell at this place is better than "sandok n palayok's" cooking but the portion they give for the price they charge is unacceptable.
Used to come here until one day I went later in the day and ordered something (can’t remember the name) that gave me food poisoning so bad I almost called 911 but I made it through the night and slowly got better.

“The food smells Amazing as soon as you walk in the door.”
The food smells Amazing as soon as you walk in the door. I went for the Monggo Soup that can be a challenge to find, a high protein mung bean soup. Yet, have to say I wanted to take every dish available. The spicy spinach was delicious and should have super sized my order. The cooking and flavors are simply BOSS. I’m bringing my friends and for a taste and definitely recommend for you to pick up some of the best cooking.

“Went here for the first time today (11/6/23).”
Went here for the first time today (11/6/23). Was greeted by a lovely woman behind the counter. I told her it was my first time here, she was very patient with me. I think I've had filipino food once, so I wasn't all that familiar with the different dishes. I ordered some crispy pork, a combo plate with chicken/pork adobo, garlic rice and an order of eggrolls. The chicken adobo was my absolute favorite, the pork adobo was okay, the flavor was a little too strong for my liking. The egg rolls were really good as well, but I didn't really like the crispy pork. Overall the food is pretty good with big portions and great customer service. I will definitely be back, I want to try some of the other dishes they have.

“I can’t believe I walked out of this store paying like I ate in a fancy restaurant.”
I can’t believe I walked out of this store paying like I ate in a fancy restaurant. $75 for 10pcs longganisa x $2.50 each small piece!!!, 1order of liempo, she asked me if I wanted soup and so I said yes thinking it was for free, as is with other restaurants, to my surprise, She charged me with 1order of sinigang with little fish meat around $20++. That money would get me a long way with 2 trays of filipino food elsewhere. It is overpriced. Omg

“I am really a fan of Filipino dishes.”
I am really a fan of Filipino dishes! I really love their style and how their food tastes. My favorite is their garlic fried rice, pork adobo, and their special Crispy Pata. The quality and taste of their food are really amazing. All of their offers here are affordable and fair. You can literally order anything you want without breaking your pocket. I also recommend trying their Halo-halo, it’s a Filipino dessert, and it’s very delicious and authentic! Lots of people keep visiting this place because of the service. All of the staff here is professional, kind, and decent. They will also give you a warm welcome once you enter the place. Just like other Filipino people, the staff here is very hospitable and caring. The whole place is very calming, relaxing, and has a good vibe. This is the best cuisine I have ever been to right here in Oak Park! The portions are big and great. This place is no doubt one of the finest spots in the whole city! You will be always satisfied visiting this spot. Highly recommended! I will continue to recommend this Lola Tining’s Cuisine to all my friends and relatives. Can’t wait to visit again soon! See you guys! Kudos!

“I’ve had the opportunity to eat here twice.”
I’ve had the opportunity to eat here twice. I like to try new foods and places so when I walked in to this unassuming place at first I was a little skeptical. But regardless I tried a couple of dishes. And let me tell u . You know that scene in ratatouille where ego tries the titular ratatouille and is transported to his childhood. Well … their dish’s made me feel like an honorary Filipino and gave me a glimpse of what flavors Filipino cuisine have to offer. As soon as I tried one of their lumpia’s I willing closed my eyes and all I could say in joyous sigh was *damn…I was supposed to lose weight this year * so yeah it’s pretty good. Glad I found it

“Been getting their shish ka bobs here it seems like decades.”
Been getting their shish ka bobs here it seems like decades. They are the best $1.50 each can't be beat. Everyone I know who has tried them loves them. On occasions we get the meals as well. All tastes are home cooked. I hope they keep it up for a long time.

“They say that every Filipino restaurant has its own special recipe for adobo, and no two are quite the same.”
They say that every Filipino restaurant has its own special recipe for adobo, and no two are quite the same. Some are drenched in a thick, tangy sauce, others swim in a spicy, salty broth that perks up the senses, and there are some that seem to have let the meat simmer and tenderize for what seems like the better half of the day so that each morsel is imbued with the delicious flavor as the meat literally melts away from fat and bone. The third option is what you will get here--do not miss out on the pork adobo, please! The lumpia literally made my day, they are so crisp and tender on the inside, so make sure to call ahead and score yourself some of those. They are served fresh with a sweet and sour sauce. One more word of advice and then I promise I'll let you go: get the halo-halo for dessert, just trust me. How can I describe it? If Fruity Pebbles (best cereal ever) was transformed into a concoction of frozen goodness with an absolutely delightful array of titillating textures. There's always a tear shed when you get to the last bite, it's just so good that you never want it to end. Now, stop reading this and get going on it--give Lola Tining's a call and get yourself over to Harlem & Garfield in Oak Park and enjoy!
