“Hands down one of the best restaurants in Chicago. The burger is easily one of the best I’ve ever had. I know some people may still bring up issues from the past involving the former chef, but he’s no longer with the restaurant, and the food speaks for itself. If you’re going, you have to order the burger, the steak, the fries, and the oysters—they’re all outstanding. Honestly, the entire menu is worth exploring because everything is executed at a high level. Oh and the pasta feels so fresh that even better than Italy.”

“Great off the beaten path place with an open kitchen & wood-burning hearth. Excellent small daily menu & flavorful flame kissed dishes. I enjoyed sitting at the chef's counter, watching the action & enjoying the smells.”

“The reviews I read about Warlord were accurate. The burger was phenomenally juicy cooked to a medium doneness level. The non-alcoholic cocktail was also good. Our server, Samia, did a good job explaining the menu options. I have 2 minor gripes. I wish the music volume was a bit lower but I liked their picks. I wish there was more parking in the area.”

“The grilled oysters were so good ! And they had the freshest trout and prawns from Patagonia which melted in my mouth. Special mentions to the burger , it was hands down the best burger I’ve had in Chicago, and worth every penny! I’d be here to celebrate every occasion given the amazing waiting staff and cocktails! Hands down the place to experience in Chicago! Thanks guys for this wonderful experience :D”

“The cheese and bread was so delicious. Great ambiance, like living in blade universe.”

“The rare to medium rare 12 oz 35 day dry age steak was the most tender and flavorful steak I have had in a while. Neither expensive nor cheap at $70, it is a fair price and amazing value compare to steak I had from Hawksmoor or RPM. The spicy Old Fashion was a hit. As a non carrot fan, the roasted carrots appetizer. was surprisingly good. Their aged raw salmon appetizer was good too. I love their burger. Heads up, it does not come with fries.”

“Absolutely amazing! We booked their tasting menu with alcohol pairing to celebrate my fiancée’s birthday. From start to finish this place takes you to another level of dining. Staff and service were professional and welcoming. Carson did a fantastic job helping us throughout the entire experience. The atmosphere and set up matched the live fire / open kitchen concept. Food creations were surprising and delicious, paired with unique cocktails and other beverages. All well balanced and presented to us in an artistic way. We were surprised by the fact that this place doesn’t currently hold a Michelin star. Compared to other restaurants with Michelin stars we’ve dined before, Warlord definitely deserves at least one. We highly recommend them for fine dining and special occasions!”

“The first time I went here, I was overall unimpressed as it wasn't like it was bad, but it also wasn't amazing. I've since gone back twice to get the burger and each time I love the burger more and more (along with their dirty martinis). In a world of smash burgers, it's refreshing and nice to have a thick burger that lets the meat do the talking. The aioli and grilled onions along with the bun just work together perfectly. Easily top 5 burger in the city. The rum cake and the oysters weren't too bad either but every time I go here I'd struggle to not get the burger and a dirty martini every single time as it's that good.”

“Went on a 1h 20min power walk from Jefferson Park and ended up at Warlord for a spontaneous dinner. Sat right in front of the live fire grill, which felt like sitting in a medieval tavern but with loud rock music and contemporary fare. A bizarre combination, but it works really well. I was last here in 2023, and I’m glad they are now Michelin-listed. I had the Raw Bigeye Tuna and Melted Eggplant, paired with a sparkling German Sekt and a Vinho Verde from Portugal.”

“What can I say… we walked in, Liquid Swords came on, had an old style and the best burger I’ve ever had. Was it all just a dream?”

“Warlord's is a must when you are craving a good burger in the city. I would say this is definitely top 5 in Chicago! Worth the money. We were seated at the chefs table where we got to watch the magic happen. The technique they use to grill their burgers is very unique and you can taste it from your first bite! Great experience! Dry aged burger patty was cooked to perfection! Flavors are rich and deep till the last bite so juicy, you completely forget that there's no cheese on the burger it's phenomenal...Very unique set up inside with a medieval feel. Dark, but very intimate. Staff and service was nothing less than great! I would recommend going 30 minutes before they open on a Monday, to give you better chances of seating they do not take reservations. 100% recommended!!”

“A nice burger and they have $4 old styles so it’s a win in my book. Burger was good, had charred onions and aioli, they make all their sauces in house. Only complaint is they don’t have ketchup, could be an easy fix, they also didn’t have French fries but served the burger with okra instead and the okra was bad. Fries and ketchup would go a long way here, but fantastic burger.”
