“We loved our experience here.”
We loved our experience here. They were happy to accommodate our request for gluten free and nut free. The afternoon tea platter came out looking so good we doubted if it was gluten free or not! It definitely was gluten free and they were happy to verify for us as we had a celiac among us. The towers were well balanced and it didn’t feel any less than the gluten version. Everything was delicious and stunning. Not to mention the location itself is beautiful. We would 100% come back.

“My husband and I had a date night here.”
My husband and I had a date night here. Delicious food. I highly recommend the pieroskis and the quail. My husband loved the chicken meatballs. We also loved the pelmeni. And the service was fantastic. I hadn't been here in over a decade and I left wondering why not. The place is also just beautiful!

Started with a minimal greeting by the hostess and waited a while to he greeted by our server. After this the experience was great. Our server had helpful suggestions and was attentive. Foos was great. Well prepared and presented. Dessert was good.

“We went with a couple of friends and had no expectations.”
We went with a couple of friends and had no expectations. My friend wanted the tea combo, and even though we arrived a bit after it had ended, the waiter was very kind and served us the tea menu anyway. The strogonoff was delicious, and we all really enjoyed our choices. The mini dessert section of the tea buffet was fantastic. It was an excellent surprise!

“I love Russian Tea Time.”
I love Russian Tea Time. I try to dine there when I end up downtown and have the time to indulge. White tablecloths, clean utensils/plates, cozy decorated atmosphere with woodwork and Russian art, great friendly on point service, low key music so you don't have to shout to be heard, classy bathroom and of course the great food. Honest review today...For my friend's birthday we splurged on the big combo vegetarian platter, and it was missing parts like the tomato tartar and cabbage, which I missed. Instead, we had two types of beet dishes on the platter. The hummus, beets, carrot salad, potato dumplings, potato onion croquettes?, tabouli, etc that we did get were very good though. We had bowls of borscht soup which were delish, served with a couple little toast points. We ordered bread and whipped honey butter and was a little sad to get just 3 little slices of the pumpernickel (which I'm a freak for their house made pumpernickel) and two tiny white slices. On the up side, the house tea (which is like a berry essence) never disappoints and the refills in the fancy cups are my happy place. We had no idea there was a second round to our veg combo that included barley, rice, potato mushroom mix, and I forget what else. It was okay but I would prefer more of the colorful salads of the first round. Another nit pick, although not a total deal breaker, is they usually have a few beautiful little flowers at the tables and the flowers today were way past their prime. Would've probably been better to not have them instead. Sad. These were basically dry as tissue paper. On the up side, our gracious waiter did bring out a candle lit slice of chocolate cake for the birthday boy and sung happy birthday which was sweet. We didn't need desserts but we ordered the honey cake and cherry dumplings anyway. Oh me oh my. Found out they will sell a big loaf of their pumpernickel bread to take home for a steep price=food for thought. I still love this place. Want to splurge on a proper tea service some time in the future. Also want to try herring under a blanket. Sorry my photos taken sucked so not posting much visuals.

price is not bad at all, I did 2 chicken kiev, 2 house tea, and the russian dish for 2, it comes as 2 separate plates and it rates very high in my book, based off the many times I have stayed in russia! $160 before the tip,, I was previously over critical and left a good but not great review, anytime I can have something that reminds me of home I am greatful, thanks for a good dinner,

“We love coming here before concerts at Symphony Center.”
We love coming here before concerts at Symphony Center. Traffic made us 40 minutes late for our reservation but they held our table and put a rush on our service to get to our show, but didn’t make us feel rushed. The food is always unique, beautiful and excellent. Sad I didn’t catch our server’s name, he was wonderful!

“Every sip of tea and bite of dinner was perfect.”
Every sip of tea and bite of dinner was perfect. Mushrooms and onions, borscht for appetizers, dinner: duck leg, cabbage roll. Berry tea. Came in after a busy day in the city and this homey, cozy place was perfect for a break from the bustling streets. Service was prompt and helpful without being intrusive. Really cool art on the walls, cultural decorations and vintage tea sets on display. Charming ambience, no overhead music, could hear my partner and the server. Duck was tender and juicy, mushrooms were bright and garlicky without being overcooked. We had a reservation and only waited a couple minutes to be seated. Will return for formal tea service during the day!
